Mousekiller\'s Vampire Counts Army

Any more stuff done?

I love all of your armies, the style of picking one then just doing something small like 500 points in such a detailed and dedicated manner really appeals to me, especially when I get to see it progressing from start to finish, keep it up man :)

Sorry for the long delay in an update, and even sorrier that it is not more than it is. I have been working up a dwarf army lately and the bright colors have distracted me. So, this is what I have finished up.

I seem to be going back and forth between green and fleshy on these zombies, and I am not sure how it is going to work in the end. I think the commonality will be the clothing, which I think will be green and yellow brown, the colors of Stirland and where I would think most of these zombies come from. Anyway, here is the crucified piece with one of the zombies on it (not done completely of course):

And here is another shot of the zombie boss. I am trying to give him a lot of different color in his skin, to include some haunted looking eyes, which is proving very difficult. Also, changed his wrapping to a more greenish color.

Hopefully it won\'t be too much longer for another update on these guys, as I do have quite a bit of fun with them.

Byronic: Thanks mate, these small armies are fun to start with but I do have plans to expand them. All the dark, muted colors were starting to give me a bit of a headache, so I had to take a bit of a break with the dwarfs. I am still definitely working this army up though.

More plz :)

My friend has just started collecting VC, I\'m showing him this thread to show how characterful they can be:) that chaos warrior helmet is looking a little bright though I think.

What\'s next?

Hello all. Well, I am going to try my best to at least give a weekly update on this blog. The going may be slow, but who knows, maybe the extra posting will help me paint a bit quicker...

Anyway, still working on the cricified base. Did a bit more on the skin of the guy with the heads, plus did a bit with his pants. Also, gave a purple wash to the bone guy, which I think has really given his green skin a very dead look. Weathered up the wood a bit also. Added a pumpkin (I know it is a bit corny, but I really feel pumpkins will belong as a theme in this army). Weathered the chaos helmet a little. I think that covers what I have gotten done.

Ok, quick update with the weekend upon us. I think I finally like what I am seeing to a certain degree. I still need to finish quite a bit, but my goal is to at least finish these three this weekend...

Ok, still working on the 3 other zombies (they should be done tomorrow)... but in the mean time I am going to finally call something \"done\" with this army. I finished the sacrifice... so please tell me what you think. I also finished the \"boss\" model.

Quick update. Nothing done.

Started on a crypt bat:

And a few more zombies... the one with no leg will be on the same base as the headless one...

aap: I feel as though I paint slow though... so much unpainted stuff on the shelf...

Ok, so now I am a bit conflicted. The storyline behind these Crypt Bats is going to be that they were once Vamps themselves, but lost almost all of the human part of what they were. So, that being said, lets talk about rust. Should I leave the rust on the weapon, or give the appearance that the Crypt Bats take better care of their equipment?

Still a little bit more work to do (leather, weapon, base, wood, a few other things).... I did add a little rock wall to the base. Any other tips before I finish him up?

Ok, this is where we stand for this week.

Here are the remaining zombies to be painted:

And the next crypt bat, who still has a bit of work left to do on him:

bobo: I used a Reaper Master Series Olive Shadow base, mixing in Games Workshop Tanned Flesh, then Dwarf Flesh, then Elf Flesh, followed by another part Elf Flesh, wash with purple.
