Hi all, I just finished my first ever bust the Forgeworld Bretonian and I have to say that it is the largest scale mini I have done.

This is the link if you would like to have a looksy,

I am not happy with a couple of things but for my first try at something this large I am quite pleased. Thanks for looking.

Funny, when I saw this Forgeworld piece unpainted, I thought of a much older man, but yours looks lively and young.

The heraldry stuff looks great, as does the chainmail. Your bright crisp colors really bring out his character.

For a bit of criticism, I\'d say the spot just under his eyes looks a little off. Maybe too much of the color goes onto his nose? Regardless, this thing is very well done, and among your best. I vote 9

Wow, well, the first thing I saw when I looked at it was the metal...looks awesome at this scale. The tabad thing looks great too, nice n\' realistic. Ditto with the parchment and beautiful freehand. As for things I don\'t like, I think the blue on his little..ermm...\"shoulder-shield\" could do with a bit of work, or something to jazz it up a bit. And maybe the skin could do with a few more tones or highlighting around the eyes...it just looks a bit red right now.

Speaking of red, what colours did you do the red of the shield in?

Gave it a nine, to rectify that 7.7....you should really start it off at 8. :)

Thanks guys, I did the shield in a base of scab red up to red gore over a black undercoat.
The blue on the shoulder shield I was dissappointed with as it looks a lot smoother in reality, the light source picked out faults that I couldn\'t see, I am going to redo it and try for a better smoother look or I might even change it altogether.

Holy crap! Thats great, I agree the blue looks a little flat, but its a bit like saying the Mona Lisa is a bit small!

Awesome work, hence a 10.

I have to say that you did an incredible job on something this big. The area around the eyes is about the only thing I would change. :D I gave it a nine, but it could easily be a 10. The shields are very well done.

Many thanks again I realy did not think that this would generate such a response. I did put a lot of time into this one and as I said it is the first bust that I have ever painted so to get such positive feedback is very well appreciated indeed.

Tidoco, it\'s outstanding! You shouldn\'t be surprized, as he shows off both the time and care you gave as well as your skill. I think anything I would have pointed out has already been covered, so I\'ll I\'ll sum it up - 9 from me.

Well once again I find myself saying thanks to you all. I hope I can continue to produce minis that generate such a response.

Thanks Scott and I will also be sending an order your way soon for some more bases.:D
