Necron Fleet

Hey!
We are starting pretty big project - Necron Fleet. Package with models just arrived so this is gonna be just intro post
Its gonna be pure 6th edition Warhammer 40k army based only on flyers - we've tested it and its sick good. Its gonna be around 1700 points roster that includes:
- Overlord in Catacomb Command Barge
- 5x5 Necron Warriors in Nightscythes
- 3x Tomb Blade
- 3x Doomscythe
In the first turn on the battlefield there is only Overlord and Tomb Blades. They are for scouting and luring the enemy In round two Night and Doom Scythes start to arrive and annihilate the enemy. Almost everything hits them on 6+. No one can assault them - they are really good


Now the visual part. Army is gonna be white + metallic with rust and weathering and desert bases (we are planning something special with Brovatar). We are gonna show some progress soon. Hope you like the idea - the army might go on ebay

Yawnfest at the worst. I would just leave and not play a dude that brought that to the table.

And must be boring to paint.

Ill be laughing when your 6 tin men get blown off the table in the first turn and you auto loose the game.

Losing 280 points out of 1700 = auto losing why?

Wish I could.....at work arm, but can look it up when I get home.

Also remember that only 50% of your army can start in reserve. So some of the passengers might need to start on the table.

I might also be difficult to physically place all 8 fliers on the table if the terrain is large and you face armies with large footprints, forcing your fliers to constantly have to fly off the table or crash if they can't fly the minimum distance. Canny players can make that happen. I would have settled for 4 fliers, still alot and would have given you more boots on the ground, some anihilation barges and some more wiggle room.

While the tournament roster is what is is, I'll be checking your paint scheme. Do you plan to do grey metal only, or will you also add bronze and/copper accents to break out what could become monotonous?

Plan is to make it metal only with white paint + green OSL. Hope its gonna look cool

I started with Scythes. First - GW Chaos Black Primer.

First layer of rust - scorched brown mixed with blood red. There are gonna be 2 more layers before white.

Brovatar almost finished modelling bases so I'll show you progress in those soon.

The rust by itself looks cool. maybe add a little copper in the sponge, and add glowing lines, hummmmm. Now you've got me thinking of trying Necrons, damn it! :smile-big:

There are gonna be next 2 layers of rust so I hope it will look even more cool As for the metal layer Im not sure about that one - I might stick just to rusty white with some seperate metallic parts.

I think people playing in tournaments only want to win, they are not always there for fun. They can play for fun at the LGS. At least that is the view of the tournament players I know. And for the record, my level of caring can always drop to another level!
