need help with shading

hi,
recently I started my new Chaos Space Marine army, the \"Frostdrachen\".

Since their homebase is on a ice planet I thought about a bright ice colour-scheme.

I\'m using Vallejo colours and decided, that Wolf Grey (blueish, bright grey) is my main colour.
I have no problem with the highlights, but what drives my really nuts, is the shading. I tried washing, painting directly, etc and wasted aleardy 4 models this way.
So i would be really thankfull if someone could give me some tips, hints or links, how to shade this colour.
Maybe someone could provide me with some pictures of figures painted in an icey scheme?

Hmm... Have you considered mixing a dark blue into your gray for the basecoat, then highlighting up from there? It\'s time consuming and easy to screw up if you don\'t keep your paints thin enough but it can look really good.
