Love it, but I would like to hear a detailed description of how you made the base.
OK... Let\'s do it!
1) Building of the scenery
- The metal parts: This is a GW part glued onto the base, with holes drilled. The studs/rivets are styrene rod bits. The grid is a Green Stuff mold made following
Drunken Dwarves\' method. The sword comes from an hybrid, with the hand removed and the handle resculpted.
- The stones: These are made from plasticard and then carved one by one...
2) The painting
White undercoat (yeah you know, cult of the White primer). For the brands: Citadel & Vallejo Model Color (numbers between brackets)...
- Metal: 1st coat with Vallejo\'s Luftwaffe Uniform (105).
1st wash with black (with lots of water)
2nd coat of Luftwaffe Uniform + 1st & 2nd highlights with ±1/4 white.
2nd wash with Vallejo Smoke (181) very thinned...
3rd & 4th highlights with 1/3 white + 5th with 1/2 white. Glaze of black to unify the whole.
Last strains created with washes of flat red (031) + smoke.
- Stones: Base coat with Mahogany Brown (139). 1st highlights with Citadel Bubonic Brown, followed by a black wash. New highlights, with Bubonic mixed with German Yellow (012) to pure color (5/6 layers). Then the washes: Smoke, Flat Red, white (to flatten), and a final black to unify the whole. This final black wash, before drying is removed with a clean brush on the top of the flagstones to simulate erosion.
And voila! Now, the aberration is prepared and will be primed tonight!
