New Army Lust

For the first time, I am seriously considering starting a new army coincident with a new release, specifically Orks.

Just an informal discussion... how often does the release of a new codex/models incite you to start a new army?

no seriosly though, because even thouh the models are getting nicer and nicer I dont like collecting an ARMY I like collecting FIGURES or basiccly just stuff I like or am thinking of doing for golden deamon.
because I know im never going to make a \"legel\" army.
Iv made an army before that wasnt legal.

but not this geffafle (I think iv made a new word) about lets get my next unit.

of course Im not saying its bad but more like a - do what you want - is what im trying to say. BUT the orks are looking vvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyy cool

It\'s usually the models that do it for me. Be it that I find a whole heap of them for cheap, or the I find the models \"neat\", with something fun about them. After that it\'s a obsessive/compulsive thing that get me going, hence the full battle company (plus) of rouge trader IG.

Yes I do it all the time.
Collected a 2000pt Ork WFB last October, sold it all at xmas.

Then collected a load of Empire stuff when the flaggelants and wizards were released. Sold that all a wee while back.

Now I fancy getting an Imperial Guard army, but I know I will never paint it or play with it, so I\'m going to resist lol

Ah yes, I remember being able to do that with my money, too. I believe it was called \"still single\"! lol

Apparently my talking about wanting to start collecting Orks did not escape notice.

My wife bought me a box of Ork Boyz.

I do very similar to what Matty does.

Collect a whole army.

The difference is, I never to the last part....I never sell them!! It\'s not that I don\'t wanna, I just never get round to it...

The only resistance I\'ve been able to implement on myself to keep me from collecting Hordes or miniatures everytime they revamp a line, is to limit myself to either replacing mini\'s in the army I am using, or not starting a new army until the current one is painted.

As far as that goes, I still pick up a new figure if it\'s \"neat\" enough.
Like the Terminiator Chaplain when it came out.
I couldn\'t resist the new warwalkers either, and even though I want 300 of the revamped Wraithlord I don\'t use them in my current army so I can\'t justify getting them.
