Not sure what the nod to Alan C is, but definately a nice looking Ork. I\'m also not sure about nobz being on diddy bases. I\'ll put all of mine on 40mm ones I think.

The olive green skintone seems and overall colour scheme seem to evoke an Allan Carrasco-style ork. That, or I\'m completely off the mark.

Actually it isnt, if you go to the UK online store you\'ll find it under the Ork\'s section, not the Direct Services Exclusive section..or at least thats how I found it..

Anyways Wicked mini, I like it.

I like the way they are using patina more, it\'s nice to see some more advanced metallics (even if it\'s just a wash or two). Shame they are supposedly cutting Scaly Green and several other paints from the line next year, I prefer it to Hawk Turquoise in ever way including as a wash for brass/copper.

The new Ork heads, though, don\'t impress me too much. I guess Brian Nelson didn\'t work on too many of the new figs because they don\'t match his style. IMO his are the absolute ideal Warhammer Orc faces.

I suppose it\'s kind of Alan Cish in the painting style. Just kinda Orky to me really I guess. The way he paints his Orks is just how I do mine (tonally at least, I\'m not quite that good with the details!) so I suppose I don\'t think of that as his style, more just how Orks should look.

But yeah, this is much better than the vibrant green that they\'ve done the majority of the new Orks\' skin in.

As for the sculptor, I think a lot are by Seb Perbert. I don\'t really mind the new heads, but have to agree that Brian Nelson\'s stuff was pretty darned good.

agreed, brian nelson\'s orks/orcs are the best imo. although for some reason i have a soft spot for the gorkamorka plastics (not sure why!). and i still like the character, if not the sculpt, of the old skool ork pirates

i like the metals but i prefer the old fluff of when an ork/orc gets bigger (ie higher up in society), he gets darker skinned. the way i see it, only gobbos and grots should be that colour!

Yeah, I never quite understood why they have been going neon for so many of the GW orks/orcs lately.

Upon closer inspection, the face of this particular Ork is actually quite reminiscent of some of the Gorkamorka era sculpts. I think I\'ve painted faces quite similar to this in the past. I too have a bit of a soft spot for most of the Gorkamorka models (the Prospector Ork with the pickaxe and shotgun is one of my all-time favorite 40k universe sculpts) but this particular style of face fails to evoke my nostalgia response :p

I\'ll say this now because it hasn\'t been mentioned yet: I haven\'t seen a gun that sexy since Vera. Can\'t wait to see a bigger/better angle shot of it.

The gun looks ready to unleash lots of DAKKA cool model, the thought of neon orks is quite shocking but yea they have been quite bright, jericho any more work on your dark angels??

I wish GW would use decent sized pics, especially for direct only stuff (if this is)

How am I meant to know if I want to buy it, if I can barely see it.

Yeah that\'s because it\'s on advance order. When it\'s released it\'ll be one of the MO exclusives \"collectors range\". The spider rider boss is also part of this new range apparently. The aim is to keep releasing stuff for all the existing ranges to cover any gaps and just as an excuse to bring out cool stuff that they wouldn\'t otherwise do.

It\'s all hearsay I guess I heard it ain\'t direct only but there ya go they\'ve changed there minds up and down before..
I\'m liking the new Orks very much although I can see a fair few Brian Nelson Head swaps coming.. these gus are just a tad gaunt in the face and a little stretched out looking for me..I like my orks to look like monkeys.

Well he\'s on the poster saying \"direct only\" at the order point in the Cov store. Most of the blisters have been removed from the shops anyway (for reasons that escape me). They have abolished the shipping fees to the store though so I suppose that\'s something.
