I would say because it is not practical to film a painting session and get something good out of it. Pretty much the only one I have seen come close is the P3 paint video on youtube. The thing is that it goes so fast that you cant really see it. Also most of these techniques there is no real easy way to dominate them... just trash mini after mini8 trying to get that effect. So good luck finding some tutorial videos on painting minis since I know its hard enough too find one with decent pictures on them...

I\'ve seen a few on Utube including one where one of the Privateer Press guys shows off his two brush layering technique while demonstrating the P3 paints.

At work right now and not able to browse Utube (certain sites are locked) but you may be able to find something there.

edit: at work right now on Midnights on a 12 hour shift, the 15th or so in a row, so sorry for missing that the P3 vid was already mentioned.

If you didn\'t click through, Steeldog\'s page includes samples of his DVDs. These are also posted on YouTube.

Another on YouTube is this demo of the P3 paints - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkkzU6GqNpg
This looks more like a series of stills - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFanOs2RWwg
Jeremie Bonament talking about painting at Games Day - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZR1DB07AFcs

Aside from Steeldog\'s clips, that\'s about all I got with the terms \'miniature painting\'. If you\'re interested in larger kits and historical models, a search on \'model painting\' looks to turn up a fair amount including several clips from Testor\'s and a Japanese Gundam modeller.

For items you purchase, I think Kappel\'s DVD is great for studying some intermediate and advanced techniques. Andrea\'s Painting Figures DVD is a good intro/intermediate one. Though in both cases it\'s not wall to wall hours of video, but short, targeted video instruction with additional photographs and descriptive instruction. Originally available in both video tape and DVD, though now getting hard to find in either, there are also two Painting Wizard\'s Workshops. I haven\'t watched either, but the feedback I\'ve heard from others is that they\'re best suited to beginning painters or those looking to paint more miniatures faster rather than those looking for demonstrations of top techniques. I have read a few print tutorials by the author, and army painting seems to be his priority.
