lol Thanks guys. Uber: I am only in debt because I wanted to replace my iPod in time for going on holiday :D If I hadn\'t paid £9 for next day delivery I would be square with my dad by now. Even though it took like 2 months. Anyway, the iPod was worth it, and soon I wil be able to buy a fish tank. Go me

Good luck Bill. Personally i think that oop minis sell for more unpainted (even though you have done a solid job) Have you got photoshop to adjust levels of the pic...it seams a little too dark. If was you i would keep this for myself and paint more, up to date minis for ebay.

Good luck ;)

Great. What the heck is eBay\'s problem with me? ??? I\'m trying to get out of debt, and I end up simply wasting however much money it costs to put something on eBay plus a CMON credit. AGAIN! Fan-bloody-tastic. Anyone got any ideas why nobody wants to buy this mini? I thought I\'d improved the auction layout and given it a pretty modest starting price of only a few quid more than what I paid for the mini in the first place, but still nobody bid. I\'d appreciate some help.

A couple things I noted right away when looking at your listing.

First off the I only Accept Paypal. Right there you are going to loose some potential bidders. Is there any reason not to accept a money order, or a certified cheque?

I prefer Paypal is fine, but only paypal will eliminate some bids.

Shipping seems high for one miniature as well, I don\'t know UK postage rates though, so maybe that\'s reasonable for your part of the world.

No feedback!

This is probably the biggest problem. I always suggest that all sellers and potential sellers buy at least 10 items and get positive feedback for the transactions before trying to sell. Many, many bidders will not bid on an item if a seller doesn\'t have at least a certain number of positive feedback. 10 being the minimum, but I know bidders who won\'t bid unless they see 100 or more.

I would suggest putting Warhammer in the title somewhere. People just browsing for generic Warhammer minis would miss this one, only people searching for Nurgle will find this. I doubt anyone searches for Champion, but who knows. OOP Classic GW games workshop Warhammer Nurgle would be a better title. OOP GW Warhammer Demon Winner may be better? I\'m not counting my letters here but try to get Warhammer and or GW in there.

I paint my thumb.
From what I see, I think selling minis on Ebay lately is a bit like gambling. When you gamble you must be ready to lose sometimes.
It\'s a good mini, but it\'s in no way trendy, neither the model nor the style; doesn\'t look like it\'s Painted for Ebay, not particularly fieldable, unless youre in the checkered nurgle army thing, and collectible mostly from a maniac painter point of view. I agree it would have raised more interest unpainted.
You can\'t win them all ;)

My opinion as why it is not selling better.

It is not that visually stunning of a model.

Technically, it is very impressive. The checks are simply amazing. But you eye has nothing to focus on. Many of the colors appear to be variations of the same grey green color. The black & white imply grey, the weapon shaft is dark brown grey, or so all of this appears.

The best thing you could have done is to fake his face the focal piece with bright red or green eyes so they stand out. Used a warmer brown for the weapon shaft. Used stipes instead of checks in faded/grey yellow and contrasting color.

There is nothing wrong with you figure, it fits theme, looks good to those who appreciate solid painting, but it has nothing that makes anyone want to jump out and say \" I got to have it!!\"

I ask you take my opinion in the spirit it was offered, which is to honestly answer as to why it is not selling better.

Please do keep up the good work, you have some very good skills and talent.

hi there, my opinion only!

i sell a lot of figs on ebay and i have a few ideas after looking at your auction.

1. postage is too too high. aim for probably £2 in the uk and £3.50 to the rest of the world.

2. your a demon winner, put pro painted in the description. ie pro painted oop warhammer nurgle champion

3. accept other payment

I cannot disagree with Fildunn enough. Do not say \"pro-painted.\"

Propainted is e-bay slang for \"looks like ass.\"

The sculpt is just not good, and the painting is too muted.

Also the one thing I see killing this auction is the base, you have it on a round base. If this model is for fantasy I cannot use it with that type of base.

Also this is an OOP model and most buyers want new stuff. I might take OOP out of the title, but mention it in the description, plus OOP is an oversued term as is NIB and such.

Do not re-list it right after it did not sell, if you want it to sell, put it asside and wait.

Justapose your pictures. If the first thing I see is the back, I assume the front looks like crap and stop letting the picture load.

As people say \"E-bay is a crap shoot.\" I just did a quickie paint job on a model and had it sell for 70 bucks but then I did a top notch paintjob on a 20 dollar model and only got 10 for it.

I\'ll put my two cents in. Some agrees with what\'s been said, some disagrees.

The photo:

It\'s too dark. It needs to be brighter since details are pretty much lost in shadow as it is. The front picture needs to be on top. Better yet, put the front and back shots side-by-side so people with low resolutions don\'t have to scroll the page to see the full figure.

The auction listing:

Make damned sure Warhammer & Painted are in the title. Since this is an old figure, OOP needs to be in the title, too -- you want to attract the Citadel collectors to this auction, so I strongly disagree with dropping OOP from this one. Drop the whole \"painted by a demon winner\" thing and mention that in the listing itself or as a subtitle. The terms \"Chaos Warrior\" are broader and should be used over \"Nurgle Champion,\" but only drop \"Nurgle\" if you\'re running out of title space. Do not use \"pro\" in the title; it\'s worthless as is any indication of the quality (\"well painted,\" \"awesome\", etc).

Being low priced, OOP and in an unusual colour scheme (at least for nurgle), your target audience should be roleplayers and collectors. Mention in the listing how this could be used as a vermin lord villain (or other class) for D&D or RPGs; give your viewers ideas for additional uses for this figure. You may even want to risk putting RPG in your listing title, but don\'t add D&D to a Warhammer listing -- ebay does occasionally remove these since GW\'s IP restrictions states their figures can\'t be used for D&D.

Shipping actually isn\'t that bad, assuming you\'re packing it extremely well (IE, cardboard box, foam rubber, insurance). If you\'re doing all of that, mention it clearly and proudly in the listing. If you\'re not, then you need to drop your shipping rate.

Add a reasonable Buy-it-now price. It\'s only 25 cents extra (at least on the US ebay) and does two big things: It gives you a chance of an impulse purchase and it encourages early bids (some folks bid early purposely to get rid of the BIN option and hope it sells for less). Do not \"require immediate payment\" with the BIN.

It\'s too late to worry with the base unless you want to spend more time working on the figure (which I don\'t recommend -- you\'re already behind as it is, so use that time on another figure). If you\'re targeting 40K players, D&D or RPG players, or collectors, a round base is fine. If you\'re targetting only Warhammer players, it should have been on a square one.

Individual troopers are always harder to sell as singles than characters, and OOP figures are always harder to sell painted than newer. You have two things going against you right off the bat. Still, I\'m confident your major problem here is the title (or rather the lack of good keywords in the title).

Anyway, hope that helps.
