Hi all just finished my first 40k mini in a while, some of you may have seen it in the WIP thread but if not here is the finished item,

I have also this time put it into my gallery and if you want to vote or comment or even both then
HERE is the link.

Hope you like it, I have found a few more Orks and I might expand this one to a whole unit going for the same theme.

I really like this guy, Tim Good vivid colours without being too bright, and love the Templar robe.

One comment would be that if the white robe is that dirty, wouldn\'t his skin in the same are have some blood and grime on too?

other than that, solid work

Yeah I thought about blood and grime on the skin and did give it a try but it didn\'t seem to show too well so in the end I opted to leave it as it was and retouched the test area over.

Hello, first post here :)
I really like it, you work on the skin and the robe is realy nice, your metalic are great.
I was thinking of going NMM but when I see what you do, it make me think.
One question, how did you do the old iron/rusty iron on the shoulder? I can\'t find a mix that works for making rust.
Oh I didn\'t say that I also like the dynamic of the mini, the gretch make the orc bigger, really nice.

The rust was done first by usibg a basecoat of Dark Flesh and then by stippling first Vermin Brown, then Fiery Orange and then Blazing Orange I then very lightly drybrushed boltgun metal over the surface so only very tine amounts were left on the flat surfaces, lastly I highlighted the edges of the spikes and shoulder pad with Boltgun metal I did this by running the edge of the brush along the edges of the rusty armour.
Hope that helps and welcome to the forums.

Well that was fast, thanks.
I will try your advice. Sorry to be a noob but what do you mean by stippling? I never heard of that before.
How long did it took to paint this mini?

That is ok, stippling is where you get a paintbrush and dip it in the colour you want to stipple, you then wipe off the excess with a tissue and then dad the brush randomly over the area you want to apply the stippling to. You will see a gradual build up of colour, it is best to use an old brush as it does not do brushes any good. i have an old synthetic fibre brush that I have cut down the bristle length to about 5mm and that works just fine.

Very nice! :D I like what you did to the templar robe the weathering look very nice, will probably do something similar soon. Were you inspired by the same historical piece that I am? namely that knight that won at lugudum (or what it\'s called).

This mini is amazing. I love the way you paint ork skin, and the metas are really cool too. Yo have a really cool painting style, the ork is dark and dirty, suits the 40k universe perfectly:D

The depiction of Christ in your work is offensive to me...etc.

Or maybe I\'m confusing matters again!

Excellent work Victor (balls, done it again lol)

Good stuff all across the board, especially the little gretchin and the slightly different skin tone. Nice contrast.

This was a fun one to watch in the WIP thread. The cloak really turned out very well and is my favorite part. The metals look great as always.
