p3 paints

I\'ve heard people expounding the virtues of p3 paints for a while, but finding them is a bit of a pain.

Where\'s the best place to get them in the UK?
Can\'t find ANYTHING (paint-wise) on Ebay, just playstations etc

Does Neal at the War Store ship to the UK? He\'s always got really reasonable shipping charges, and I know he stocks them.

When you want to find them on Ebay, do a search by \'Iron Kingdoms\' for the base colour set, and by faction name for the others.

Menoth White Base and Menoth White Highlight

any others you would suggest?

Dan I got mine from the warstore cam quickly and very reasonable shipping and they accept paypal which is always easier for me...Cracking paints I\'ve ordered direct from PP a few times as well and they have a great service with fantastic up to the minute tracking but their postage is a little higher than the warstore...

The browns and flesh colours rock as does the whole menoth set...
just got the cygnar set trying that out nextweek but overall very impressed ..Also picked up some reaper master series from the warstore and these also rock....

Did you get hit by custom duties when ordering the paints? I\'ve had things, mostly region1 dvds before and it\'s been a bit hit or miss with cutoms.

Are my favorites, though I do have more then that.

@Matty - Is that Khador red the nearest to blood red (A bright red)
As I find scab red coats fine.

Do P3 yellows do well?
Really, I\'m mainly after a good yellow, white and red for basecoating.

There is a yellow, I think it came with the set with mainly Blues (sorry don\'t play Warmachine so don\'t remember the factions).

The one I got coats very well.

Sanguine Highlight is more Scab red, and Sanguine base is even deeper.
I find that those two then Khador red are great for reds, you get a deep purply shade, which brings up to a bright red, I also add an orange in to brighten it up a touch more.

Id show you a pic, but its my GD project, and thats under wraps

haven\'t been hit with the customs thing from any warstore orders or Privateer press.

get creamed every time I order from Battlewagon Bits ......doubled the order price twice..

@DaN have just ordered some of the reaper yellows should have them this week if the paints aren\'t caught in the middle of the postal strikes or floods..will let you know how they go..

Well, in that case, the prices are going to be extremely reasonable, especially at the current exchange rates.

EDIT: What are the colours in the sets that the war store are selling as Trollblood, Circle, Legion and Skorne?

hey all...i painted for privateer before the new line was introduced, when we mixed everything with gw paints...now, i have the whole line of p3 paints, but find i still use gw almost as much as before...and now i\'m usin\' the foundations too...the point is, get \'em all...between the whole line of p3 and gw, you will never be hurtin\' for selection...there are some colors in both ranges that are essential and exclusive...
p3---sanguine base, troll base, greatcoat grey,coal black, pig iron, maybe a couple more that slip my mind...
gw---shadow grey, scaley green, mechandrite red, space wolves grey, all the metals, and of course some of the dear departed colors(that you can still get from foundry) such as ghostly grey and jade green...
i don\'t really see a difference in inks and washes, but p3 wins hands down with the bottles...
hope this helps a little...all in all, i feel one can never have too many paints...every different tone is helpful since i like to paint right outta the pot, and never remember my mixes..

I got some over the weekend from dragonforge (the good man sent me a load over, hell of a good thing he did for me). They are great paints cover really well, thin down nice to make easy blending. They also mix well with vallejo paints so I guess they would mix with most if not all paints!!!! So yeah great paints imo

I thought I\'d wack this in here seeing as it P3 related. I\'ve used Khardic Flesh Paint to paint some robe type clothing on a Sister of battle (thought it looked like eygptian cotton). I was just wondering if anybody had an idea for a shade to use I just havent had chance to look propely yet. Used the P3\'s ive got properly last night, gave em a really good going and they are brilliant they cover so well and smoothly. I love em !!!!

For shade (i do this with most colours) add a spot of purple and a touch of black.

In ratios I would use about 8:3:1 then progressively add black to keep shading and getting deeper.
