Painting and Converting Crimson Fists Help

Okay well i am planning on making a crimson fist army with several dreadnaughts this is my first time posting on this forum so i thought i might start by asking for help on doing this new army for me because i want this one to be painted well. Firstly i would like to know how shall i go about making my dreadnaughts look battle worn and venerable. after that i am moving on to vellejro paints along with gw ones so what colours should i use from the vellejro range along with gw if any?

Paint metallics on all the edges of the armor in parts where the paint would be worn away. That\'ll make it look more battle worn.

from GW regal blue seems to be a good colour for crimson fists (someone on the forums is also asking for help with crimson fists will try and find it as this might help also)
