Painting Lair

I was reading in a forum thread that I can\'t find right now. Someone was complaining about packrep posting a photo not of a mini but of his/her workspace. Knowing I will offend whoever that was:p I posted mine too.
I think it\'s a fun idea to see where everyone works. Mine still says it is waiting, but can be reached here:

packrep\'s can be reached here:
http://www.coolminiornot.com/index.php?id=18769

Or, soon enough you can search for \"painting lair\".
I suggest any and all interested add theirs with the title \"paint lair\". I look forward to seeing where other people work.:D

Breyer model horses? Are they an old hobby of your wife\'s or do you keep them for examples in horse coloring?

hi vincegamer -

sorry, but you have failed to offend me! :p

i wasnt complaining that he posted it, i was complaining that it was getting a high rating. or even a rating at all for that matter. and weren\'t you the one that posted about the kid\'s miniatures getting a high score? (sorry if it was someone else :() - same thing if you ask me.

i think the painting lair idea is a fun one and dont have any problems with things like that, i just dont think its right to see people giving a 10 rating to them!

plus i am afraid that if my wife sees a pic of a neat painting area she will expect me to keep mine neat :D!

You betcha!

I agree in all respects that is a cool idea and fun to see where folks do their work, but getting 10 scores and stuff is not cool. At least not in my mind. Maybe I am just jealous cause my area sucks and I would only get a 6 :D

Painting Lairs are not Minis!!

:flame: The mere thought of posting such a thing here warrants an immediate score penalty of -3 to every mini the offender posts hence forth!!!...

Now, seriously, guys. Who\'d care if you paint under tha cellar stairs?. And to think there are some who complain about having to see Terrain pieces...

heh . . I don\'t mind the Lair posts (like nearly eveyone above me said - it\'s fun and interesting to see) . . my only concern would be: what if that\'s all you had was pics of yer dang lair? and then your ranking is based not on minis at all but the pics of your lair - good score or not some painter is losing a spot on their overall rank.

Hardly serious though . . just vote\'m 5\'s since it is quite literally a tabletop!

Aww but its fun!

Yeah, but there are always some minis to be seen lurking with the confines of the Lairs. :D

I have a pic of mine but I won\'t be posting it on CMON. It\'s soo messy (its natural state) I\'d definitely get a 1.lol

Sorry to cause such a controversy, Looks like the posting was pulled, so that\'s the end of that drama. ;)

I would love to show you my painting lair, but the picture would be of tackle boxes, storage tubs and bags. (about a dozen) my \"painting lair\" is a traveling one, and is always packed and ready to move out when needed. :bouncy:

Well, here\'s mine. Lots of crap all over the place, because I always have a million things I\'m trying to work on at once :D

Actually, right now I\'m in the process of working out a system wherein I can actually store all my minis instead of just having row after row of them on the top shelf of my desk :p Should be done relatively soon, gotta find some good foam before I grab a buncha cheap tupperwear style boxes to put em in.

Heh, the more I look at the picture the more I realise I gotta clean my bloody room already :D I do it pretty regular, but with all the stuff I work on simultaneously you can\'t really tell after a day or two ;)

Otter:
My wife collects. They aren\'t the best examples of horse color since they are painted themselves. If you check out my gallery you will see I actually did a repaint of one of them. I\'ll be doing more as soon as I get some modeling tools (I get to paint the ones that got damaged when we moved)

Packrep:
Yeah, the posts got pulled off, so I think I\'ll dig out the photo and add it to this thread when I get home.

Spanky:
Mine was like yours - picture of a bunch of storage and a toolbox full of paints.

Jericho:
One of the nicest desks I\'ve seen used for painting. Handy setup, though it might help to get a paint organizer so you don\'t have to dig under other paints for the color you want. For storing the minis, I must say I\'ve been very pleased with the \"army transport\" I bought off Newwave - plus it came in like 3 days.

Now, this is more like it!!

Posting the images from your lairs here on this thread is a better alternative to have them posted along with the lil\' uns.

Angela, you are right. It is indeed interesting to look at the WIPS everybody seem to have. I stand corrected.
