PB's Best of British and the Hasslefree Hustle.

Hi chaps,
Myself and the staffers at Platoon Britannica have been chatting about a way that we can help motivate some people to help provide some extra support for British Independent companies during these more difficult economic times, and with that in mind we are now running the Best of British event (LINKY) and the first related "competition", the Hasslefree Hustle (LINKY 2).
We chose Hasslefree because we feel that Kev and Sally are the epitome of what the indie UK scene is about, and so an opportunity to give something back like this is too good to pass up.
Couple it with the release of some shiny new HF toys and their lovely new website, and I reckon we're a strip of bunting short of a Hasslefree street party.

So, we'd like to invite you CMONers along, especially including non-UK based hobbyists, to join in and have some fun, with the chance to "win" some shiny toys too!

Hope to see you soon,

Scott :)

(P.S. I hope that this is the right forum for this. If not just let me know. :) )

Nice one Iacton, good to see PB spreading its wings :good:

LINKY: http://platoonbritannica.com/index.php?forums/best-of-british.46/ ;)

I think we get a fair mix of indie manufacturers from around the world here on CMON, both Gallery and Forum, though GW is certainly predominant. Hows the mix over at PB (I confess to not spending much time in the WIP section), given that you started off as a GD support group? Though I'm aware that more recently medals from other comps are starting to carry greater status, which is nice to see.

I have some HF bits stashed and need to paint one up as a Christmas gift so may join in :)

Cheers, B.

Duh. Stupid copy/pasta...

Yes, thanks mate the 2 links are here...
LINKY 1 and LINKY 2

The emphasis in this last 12 months has been to encourage the membership to see the light and climb out from under the geedubya rock. As a result, the likes of Salute and Euro in particular have had far more proportionate response from the peeps, and they are seeing the results for themselves from taking on a wider vision.

There still is the interest in GDs, but at the same time many of the vets are looking abroad to France, Germany and possibly Spain and Italy in the future because they are disenchanted with how poorly the painters are catered for, on the whole, at GDUK. Some have enjoyed success in France and Germany already, so the interest level is there for now and the future.

However, it's not geedubya that "needs" our help, and we feel that helping to raise the profile of the likes of Hasslefree can only be a good thing for the UK marketplace. We hope that after HF, if this proves to be successful, that we can broaden to companies like Rosemary & Co. with their lovely brushes, and some base companies too. :)

This is a 7 day warning, peeps!

Please remember that ALL entries must be submitted via EMAIL to the address in the rules thread.

If it's not in by Sunday night, it's NOT in...

Looking forward to seeing what everyone has done :)

And remember, that we have some extras pledged by Hasslefree themselves, which we will ask Kev and Sally to choose their own favourite(s) to bequeath a prize to ;)
