Penrose, Il Matto.

From Sebastian\'s first wave of releases through Guild of Harmony.

I have painted him in a color scheme evoking Venetian masquerades, and the Swiss Guard. \'Il Matto\' is the name for The Fool (The Madman) in an Italian Tarot deck. The sculpt really captures a great mix of playfulness and evilness that is sort of unsettling to have in the same character. This contradiction is what inspired the Impossible Triangle painted amid the cobblestones at his feet.

This figure was great fun, and it made it to the semi-finals in Steve Dean\'s latest contest, which made me happy. :)

I paint my thumb.
Nicely done, and with a color scheme that looks quite hard to pull out right. I like the base too.
Only thing I could point is the shading on the red is a bit rough and doesn\'t blend so well, tough I know red is a tricky color to shade.

Dangerous when wet
veeery pretty! Maybe I would have painted the green on the base a different colour, but hey, let\'s not split hairs, it works really nicely overall!

Nice mini with a lot of character with a beautiful \"non-existent\" triangle on the base. Nice composition. Great face. As usually I would go for more contrast highlights here and there (gloves, shoulders and the collar).
