Today I found somthing very interesting here on CoolMini a Ratdemon (Rattendämon)(Warhammer) painted by me posted on his account without any hint who really painted the Mini. Its an very old Mini of me which I sold at ebay some time ago.

Here the Link:

Its nice that the guy posts pictures of that mini (at thats the scan I made) but without giving tribut to the painter is really poor.
I now wrote a meassage to the guy to give tribut to the real painter and than everything is ok but without changing I think I have to ask CherAnn to take the pic down.

That really sucks...

I do believe however that a lot of, possibly younger, members do not grasp the idea of attributing painting credit. It\'s just a case of, \"Hey! look at the cool minis I own\".

If he/she didn\'t keep a record, they may not even remember who painted it? I am not excusing this behaviour, but as they stand to gain nothing, this is not comparable with people entering other peoples work into competitions, although I suppose this whole site is a bit of a competition in some peoples eyes.

He/she should at least have acknowledged that they were not the author of the work...:D

Possible Solution?

You could always leave a public comment on it,... something like this:

\"Wow, (poster\'s name), thanks for displaying this piece! I never thought I would see it again after painting it and selling it on eBay. It\'s good to know that you feel my work is good enough to be posted here. Please check out my current auctions!\"

It doesn\'t sound overly angry, and he may get the hint to give credit where credit is due. Technically, though, I don\'t think there is much more than that you can do about it.
Something similar happened to my husband- he scratchbuilt an Eldar warp gate, sold it on eBay and a couple of months later it was on eBay again, with THAT seller claiming he made it (and the only difference was that he repainted the gems. We e-mailed him about it but he never responded. Oh well, he\'s a jerk.:flame:

I hope you get some kind of reply from your guy. Good luck! :D
