another idea

I like the colours beter in B (not popular but...). I prefer the backgroud in A however.

Create a third (C) with the mini from B and the background from A.

I bet it wins.

First off, I like A, the darkness in B could result in a lower score (fractionally lower, but lower)

Second, I am currently working on my entries, (I\'m doing 2), and your figure, dear SaxonAngel, is most discouraging, it is excellent!

Third, what could possibly need touchups? I\'ve gone back and studied your work and it is superb!

I guess that is what makes you one of the premier painters on coolmini.

Thanks for sharing this and I can\'t wait to see the final version. :D

I\'ll actually be the lone voice from the shadows, and say \'Neither\'

Picture A is too bright. The mini looks rather washed out...

Picture B is too dark. You lose a lot of the impact that you get from the brighter picture...

I\'d be aiming for an A.5

I have not done a \"C\". But I have done some touchups and rephotographed her. I find this new pic leans towards the qualities of A while retaining some of the detail of B.

for the new posted pic i like the bottom half but not the top half. i think its the size difference in which the top one i can almost detect the paints grain. but de new pic is much cooler and i specially like the details on the back.

I doubt it\'s the paint grain.

I had the rotten luck of getting not one but five of the sandy textured ones.:flame:
This one had the least amount of graininess (sp?). It is especially obvious on the spear head and other supposed-to-be-smooth areas. I\'m working on a conversion of her now as well, and it\'s just as bad. And yes, I tried various methods to smooth out the worst areas.

Forgive me for it, please???

nah its fine, id just watch pic size cuz like i said the two below the big one on your new posting are great, they look smooth and everything, maybe im leaning to heavily into the \"image is everything\" mode because i understand you want a real portrayal of your paint job etc.

Oh so that\'s what it is. I just got my single fig yesterday and as I was painting it tonight, esp the spearhead, I\'m like \"why the heck is it so pitted and grainy looking? My primer coat was super smooth airbrushed on!\".


I guess I know the answer now. Bummer.
