You always use the lance and then beat the enemy over the head with the stumpy end. Then the next time you charge someone your little lackey squires have already run out and given you a brand new lance to use again. Never use hand weapons with knights they dont get the +1 save. Ans I reacon painting them is a good idea as well. Or were you after color schemes?
