Are either of these modern?
Yes, Tachyon is a few years old now but well worth a go. Great fun and a very interesting flight model.

I\'m pretty sure that was Rebel Assault.Originally posted by matty1001
Yep, i use to play this at my mates house. But i don\'t think i ever got past the first level!
(This was the game where the 1st level was a training one on tatooine or something, and you had to fly through a canyon...right?)
I picked up Mechwarrior II at the same garage sale. Haven\'t gotten round to playing it. Manual is pretty complex.Originally posted by Gilvan Blight
I still have my Microsoft Sidewinder 3d Pro... my third one as I used to eat through them playing the Mechwarrior series.
Can\'t say anything about the computer game, but in the tabletop game by FASA the Atlas SUCKED! I had an Atlas and took one hit to the chest: crit: system hit? Amunition. What moron puts all of his explosive ordinance in one place? All of Atlas’ missiles exploded inside his chest. Basically one hit from a long range took the Atlas out of the game.Originally posted by Gilvan Blight
Best Mech ever was a small sized one with a flamer and axe, I would dart around flaming like mad, cause the oponent to overheat, then move in with the Axe. Even an Atlas couldn\'t stand up to it if I could get them with the Flamer enough times before being vaporized.
Yes. I just bought mine at Best Buy. Not a lot of selection but at least the quality is good.Do they even make joystics/flightsticks anymore? Haven\'t looked at/for one in ages.

Haven\'t played it yet, but I have a good story from the original Mechwarrior game:Originally posted by Jericho
The only thing I regret about the game is the way it encourages pure brute strength all the time, there\'s only like 1-2 missions in either of them that you have to do stealthy.
