I\'ve added a brief rundown of the properties of the various media used to create miniatures:

Not to be a downer or anything but:
Green Stuff... takes detail better than anything else. Period.
Matter of opinion much? ;)

Lumping Apoxie Sculpt and MagicSculp together is a mistake IMO. The former is much softer when new (don\'t know if that changes during long storage) and a lot stickier. Same basic chemistry but very different in feel during the initial stages; once they start to set up they\'re much closer but you get to that \'sweet spot\' in consistency about 45mins to an hour sooner with MS.

I think GS\'s properties do make it better for fine detail work. The stickiness is a major factor. It can also be spread thinner than other materials without tearing or smearing and still retain its shape somewhat. The bottom line is that the ability to manipulate any of the materials will come down to the sculptor\'s experience, but all things being equal, I feel green stuff still allows the most potential for fine detailng.

I won\'t argue the point on the differences between MS and AS. At 28mm size, I don\'t think either of them is ideally suited to be used on their own. They are quite useful when mixed with other materials though, Green Stuff especially.
