Shirley Henderson

I know I\'m a bit behind on popular culture, but....

I just checked out \"Bridget Jones\'s Diary\" from the library.
I was very shocked to see one of the title character’s best friends and drinking buddies was a 12-year-old girl.

Okay, not really. It’s just, it was clearly Moaning Myrtle from the Harry Potter movies.
Don’t know why I didn’t recognize her in E=MC2 as Einstein’s wife.
Anyway, I was shocked to learn that Shirley Henderson is 40 and is still playing a 12-year-old.

41 years old!

Now...if she could play Nelson Mandela convincingly THEN she\'d be a great actor!

To an extent, women over a certain age (19?) want to appear younger than they are. But is it really flattering to a 40-year-old to be told you would be perfect for playing 12?

Shirley Henderson\'s voice terrifies me :( A cross between Alvin and the Chipmunks with Ralph Wiggum from the Simpsons, multiplied by trying to sound 12... shudder.

She isn\'t really 12, you know! She was 12 when she died... She could very well be 40 or even older at the time the films are set in. :)

But she doesn\'t age as a ghost does she?

Either way...it was convincing!

I don\'t know... maybe they do age and just pretend to be the age they were when they died! :duh: lol

If ghosts age, then Nearly Headless Nick should just be withered crusty flesh stretched over some bones. Either way, I\'m surprised that either they were looking for a 40 year old to fill the role, or a 40 year old applied to fill the role.

To be fair she was only 35 when she applied for the part.

Hey! I\'ve been 35 for almost 2 weeks now. Maybe I could play a new Hogwarts student in the next film!

It was actually 50 years ago so she would be 52 in ghost years. Still convincing. I will tell my kids they will be impressed.

\"Hermione, who\'s that bloke? Did he mess up an aging spell?\"
\"Ron, don\'t stare! He\'s been held back a few times. I think it\'s appalling!\"

Hey, Herm has to get her beer from someone!

I thought that this was about a cross between Shirley Jones and Florence Henderson, two reasonably attractive moms from 1960\'s sitcoms. I have to admit, I\'m a bit let down:(
