This guy was a true hero and philanthropist. Sir Hilary died at 88, I think he\'ll very missed.

How about all the sherpas who took him to the top of Everest? Bless them, they never get the credit. Still, the man is a legend. He\'d be an even bigger legend if he left his watch at the top and had to go back up for it. Quality

Yeah, he did live a good life considering the first expedition that went up before him has never been found.

Hes had parkinsons for a while now, so hes held off pretty well.

This is absolutely not true. He was giving credit to Tenzing every time he spoke in public. In fact, Sir Hillary was coming back to Nepal on many occasions and his fund and him personally did a lot to improve the quality of life in the area - schools, hospitals and things like this.
The fact that most westerners tend to overlook sherpa\'s role in this endeavor reflects mostly on westerns perception of anything non-white non-Christian. Sir Hilary Edmund has nothing to do with this.
