Really nice painting skel. Looks fantastic and the subtle designs on shoulder and tabard is always fantastic but this especially.

mind if I ask what brand of ink you used on the purples? I got some Windsor and newton inks but they react terribly to being varnished or glazes being applied over them. I have a feeling im using non waterproof inks or something.

Thought i'd wade in on this one too. I have found that adding a little medium into the ink solves the whole issue of them not being waterproof. Does the trick for me at least :)

thanks all of you, the guy is 99,999% done. bad pictures soon to come. i hope. heh.

Oh I love the subtle colour transitions and freehand on that figure! Did you post up which colours you are using for him?

got the colorsheme for ya!
basecolor; lich purple (old GW)
highlight; warlock purple (old GW). more highlights +white
shade; midnight blue (old GW), more shade W&N black blue ink, W&N black ink.
additional colors for variations; burgundy wine (reaper), smoke (VMC). mix of lich purple and smoke. hmm. think that was it.

hey, long time not much posting. painting slump is rock bottom, but i hope to get aroud to finish that bloody nurgle deamon now.

as Corvus Corax Miniatures is slowly getting shape here is the mini i painted last spring. for those that was on the Salute show and had their eyes open, it was a finalist in the painting competition. i guess there isnt much of a secret where the inspiration came from :)

love the mini but it was a pretty fast paintjob as time was very limited. next mini of the range will be painted with more love, promise :)

Yeah couldn't find much info on this company online. Looks like they just have the one mini. Cool to be a part of it though.

I am really digging the base and all the gruesome little bits you added. It looks like a premade base, but can I ask how you normally handle bricks and cobblestones when you do them on your own? You ever just sculpt them? Love the colors you went with on the ground.

i have a gang of miniatures from their range, should paint a few after gd. but the project is still clouded in secrecy.:quiet:

not happy with the base! the ground is ok but the wall behing is made in a hurry. original plan was to paint a searchlight with the silhouette from the mini on the wall, but i ran out of time. the wall had made more sense then. its partly premade, its built by sections of bricks from a plastic kit.

hardly ever sculpt bricks of my own

Nice! Very cool piece. The composition has a bit of a Shakespearean feel. Alas, poor Yorick. He tasted good.

Thanks mate! The colour transitions are beautiful and the Purple is so rich and vibrant! Did you do a lot of coats with really thin paint?

Hahaha. Britts and their silly accents. However on the down side I am sure BFK and myself sound like every other American and talk like dumb rednecks.
As for the venom paint job skell that is one bad ass mini. Love the gore effects... Or was that part of the sculpt (the blood on his left claw) either way I love it.

Hey, at least redneck is interesting--us midwesterners will put you to sleep reciting the evening news. :D

I want to see more of this Fantasy-Marvel line! And from what I can see (the second picture won't load), the marine and his base look awesome. More pics! Larger pics!
