I wish I lived over there too, so I could play with you. Oh wait..

We're aiming to set up some Necromunda next year. Hopefully a campaign. I have an Escher gang, all autoguns and machetes instead of swords. :) Non-gw models, so they look more like commando types in tank tops and cargo pants than american football punkrocker strippers. I also made an Orlock gang, but wanted to play on their ore mining connection so I sort of tried to make them look like rioting mine workers. I have a few miniatures that I've been meaning to make into an Arbiter patrol, but I'm not sure yet if we will be allowing player controlled arbiters.

Either way, that base is coming together nicely. It was for the frog, right? I think that frog mini is really atmospheric in it's own right. It really has a regal look to it. Looking forward to see that in a few coats of paint. :)

some painting progress. hobbytime has been very limited though so im pretty happy with making any progress at all...

obviously product placement hahah.

vegetation. image looks noting like irl though :/ anyway, anyone knows about highly detailed fishes? i have some small from busch but want something slightly bigger. bought a few from china which didnt pass my quality control. 1 - 1,5cm ones are what im looking for.

a piece of the base is still in progress though, some more branches and stuff.

sculpted the water lilys on which the minis will be standing.

any ideas c&c appreciated :)

finn, ill be moving soon (early feb) then im going to invite you for a game. ill even get my own hobby space! :D

its the cheapest air drying clay you can find, i think it is paper-clay something. i find it really useful as a filler just because, well, its bloody cheap and as i always build on top of it the quality doesnt really matter :)

I realize that it doesn't matter much on a display piece, but how does stand up to punishment? I'm always interested in learning about new materials. :)

just ordered some fishes from mantis miniatures, just what i needed. but ill have a look at his thread :good: its not chep this hobby.

oistene, it dries pretty hard but not that hard to alter/destroy after it dries. but as long as you dont plan to throw them around it should be very suitable for wargaming terrain etc

Thanks Skel!

As for if this hobby is cheap or not ... it depends on what you make of it. But for most of us, it is not, 'cause there's JUST SO MUCH COOL STASH we can get. Doesn't help to be in Scandinavia and be forced to order everything... No idea what it is like in Götenburg, but here I can only get GW-stuff and paint. Almost everything else must be ordered.

The only well assorted gaming store closed down, so now we only have GW as well. We do have an expensive but good hobby store as well (model railways and ships and such, with accessories), which has plenty of stuff if you're into scratch building. Apart from that we have to order too. Rent is too high in Gothenburg so gaming stores rarely last for an extended time here.

Much the same as here, then. We have a gaming store that has been around for a long time, and it is well sized considering the size of the town - but that space is also used for novels, comics, legos and general geekdom-stuff. Decent assortment of boardgames, good array of paint, some overpriced modelling stuff and that's it. We have two hobby stores, I've only been to the one that carries Vallejo paint, as the other one is notorious for bad service...

what finn said. the railway/scale hobby store is great for purchasing basing material, plants etc. even have some tamiya paints (no vallejo what ive seen) but no miniatures exept a few ww1-2.
sadly wizard games who carried a lot of miniatures except gw closed down recently, they said it will open again in a more central location but i doubt.

oistene, where are you from?

some more work done (excuse the poor background), just figure out the position of the water lilies obviously not painted yet. and there is still a terrain piece not shown which is going to be held up by the water effect later.

i made some mushrooms on the tree (only above water level) just cutting small coins of a little branch, worked pretty well :)

guess i have to make this more flooded forest than swamp though, im fine with that!

bailey, drats should have known about that etched kit before. guess i have to buy it for next water project (if i dont destroy this one with the water....)
