ooh you can make a lovely Margarita with tamarinds :) Floating leaves might a nice addition after you do the water.

thanks friends! i am a bit afraid to destroy all the work with failed water effect but you only live once right? :D

i am however a bit torn if i should color the "water" or not, as the volume is going to be quite massive i am not sure ill be able to do it in one go, which means i have to be very careful with the amount of paint i put in it as the last thing i want is that it look striped...

Skel when i painted the sea scene for Jason I only coloured (with inks) the base of the water effect making the whole effect blue.
You could wash the sides with thinned green ink then gloss over giving the impression that the whole effect is coloured. If it dont turn out you can remove the ink without any permanent damage to the water effect?

I have always wondered this very thing myself: when adding layer after layer of the resin water effect, how do you color it? I think you just add it to the wet mix, NOT after it dries. That make sense?

If you change the colour in stages you will see the 'steps' on the side profile of the resin.
It works from the top view like when I did the tea cup fisherman.

i think it will work with a little tint on the sides afterwards, thanks for the tip 10 :good:

some more very very very exciting basework. it still missing some small animals, perhaps a birds nest etc, but ill do that after the water effect so the work isnt in vain if i fail there.

really want to start the miniature now, but first a couple of fishes and a resin duck or two to paint ;)

thanks :)

Kretcher; all kind of stuff really, some atificial moss and grass (joefix i think (?)) and fine turf from woodland, together with "real" stuff scraped from a tree, things i found on the ground, etc... ;)

YOLO! Be brave with the water effect, friend. I've personally found that every time I do something that scares me because of its potential to ruin a ton of hard work, it always works and comes out very, very good.

What did you use for the tree stumps? I can tell you added the brush to it, but what is the wood? Store bought or real?

This is going to be an epic experiment. Your base work recently has been off the hook! I always walk away inspired....about to PM you.
