Sorry But I Had To Tell You This.

Tim, enjoy your time as much as possible with your kids. It\'s all those little things that mean SO much.

My wife laughs at me \'cuz I geek out over the smallest things.

For example, this was my son\'s first year of school (kindergarten). The bus stop is JUST across the street from our house. Every morning I stood with him and waited for the bus. The first time I was SO excited! Probably more than he was.:D

On the occasion where we ran late and I needed to drop him off at school, I got the biggest \"warm fuzzy\" feeling watching this little boy walk up the big steps into the school, then turn around and say \"I love you, dad!\"

My daughter JUST last week found a girl that goes to the same school that lives a short distance away that she can hang out with. Now mind you, she goes to school 50 miles away, and is deaf. So she essentially has a \"neighborhood friend\" she can hang around with. She\'s never been able to do that before, due to her deafness making it difficult for her to befriend people.

Watching my son make his first friend, who although 4 years older, lives only 3 houses away and occasionally asks him over to play.

It\'s these kind of silly, dad-like things that you\'ll treasure...

Thanks to everyone for the warm replies, I tohught you might like to know that today I had the most wonderful day agan and as someone said I am indeed beaming from ear to ear, I picked my little girl up from home around half eight this morning and brought her to my house, we spent the morning painting and chatting she started her second only ever mini andwas more than happy to do that, then I told her we were going to the home of GW and where all this stuff is made and she just beamed and said \"wow that is cool\".
So off we went, we spent a good deal of time just looking around the gaming hall and then in the museum, after that we went for a drink in Bugmans Bar and then into the store, while we were lookng around one of the staff came over and asked if we would like to play a game of the Mines of Moria, and we did and it was very good fun (even though I lost, that pesky Cave Troll took out two of my heroes in one go:().
After that we came home and she finished the mini and was so happy I think she could have burst and so could I. Anyway I thought that I would put up a few pics of our day.

Tim;

That is a great story. Thanks for sharing it with us, and I\'m glad that you felt comfortable enough to share that with us.

I look forward to seeing the pictures of her minis when you get a chance to post em. Looks like you had a great time at GW too. Keep it up, its a special bond you\'re building.

I had a chance to hang out with my 10 year old son on Sunday, just the two of us, which rarely ever happens. We went to the hobby shop, hit some golf balls at the golf store, and then went to a BIG arcade called Dave and Busters for the afternoon and had a really great time together. Its a good feeling when you can connect with them that way.

It won\'t last for much longer so enjoy it while you can! I know I\'m trying to... ;)

Cheers,
Grumb

Ah, I love it! Parents and their kids doing fun stuff together, it\'s really great.

My husband and I have a three year old little princess, and she has my husband wrapped around every little finger on her two little hands. He never even hesitates when she wants him to play tea party with her. Now she sees us painting and has her very own set of battle bunnies that she likes to paint. Good stuff.
