I\'m painting about 100 models for a friend right now, and out of the need to use the same color for a looooong time I have started doing something.... strange.
I put some paint on the palette, then put a few drops of my water/flow enhancer/medium on top of the paint. It makes a little bubble of clear liquid over the paint. I then pull a little bit of the paint out through the side of the bubble, which makes a sort of vein of thinned paint to work with. If the vein gets too thin, I just delve a little deeper into the paint with the brush as I pull paint out of the submerged paint supply. The end result is that I can paint for a long time (or walk away for a couple minutes) without getting that \"pudding skin\" on top of my paint.
I don\'t paint with a lot of people, so I don\'t know if this is a common technique or not. Does anyone else do this?
