Surfboarding killer bikini vampire girls

OK Uber, I know - plagiarism is a crime - so sue me.

I the meantime, see what y\'all think of this rhino that I\'ve had WIP\'ing in my gallery for millenia. I\'m having to wait to see if I can get a decent photo of the interior after spraying with dullcote - as the flash was reflecting back badly from the \'ardcoat.

Here is view no 1:

And view no 2:
Rhinosides.jpg

I want to add some to one of the side doors, but I\'m not sure what... I was thinking maybe some writing or something...

Here is the Dullcoated interior:

since you fooled with my feelings you now have to paint surfing vampire girls in bikinis on the side lol. very nice interior. the rhino does need some details like litanies(?) or script. otherwise looks like a warmachine should simple.

I am actually quite tempted to TRY some \"Nose art\" but I really don\'t wanna F--- it up :p

Does anyone know of a way I can do the artwork somewhere separate so that I can then transfer it to the desired position once I have something good?

Cos I know if I try and paint it straight on there it\'ll go tits up :p

PS. I didn\'t know it was an actual movie Uber - I took it as a quote from Red Dwarf! lol (Episode Legion)

PPS. I\'ll see if I can think of some design to incorporate it though! :D

PPPS. There isn\'t a link yet Uber cos this is the WIP section you numpty :p

tits ? tits? did someone say tits?

hey this is the second time you have upset me. :(

anyhow try and just draw it out on a piece of paper first, then go over the back of the paper hard with pencil lead and then trace it onto said area. from their you have a perfect carbon copy. no mess no fuss. its the amazing uber!

ok if you wanna do art someone gave me a great tip for banners and stuff,

take a clean tile, spread a very thin even layer of pva down, as thin as possible, paint your artwork on that, cut it out and gently remove it and glue in place, i dont have a pic guide to show you, but provided you get a nice thin layer it works great, especially on banners. :D

Rogue - that sounds quite genius!

I\'m assuming that a spray of dullcote with remove the glossiness though?

like the weathering a lot, and the interior looks fine - I especially like the camera screen nice touch that I will nick at first comming chance:D. Imo there is one thing you should change, the writing in the banner at the front. Think you should redo it so it\'s in the center, really like the rest of the model so think it deserves it.
When I do freehand on larger surfaces I use a normal soft pencil, draw lightly and you will actually be able to erase it with a normal good quality eraser.
Some hobby shops also sells transfer sheets where you draw your stuff or use a printer to steel someone else\'s work ;)

@Manus - I was wondering about transfer sheets! Do you know of any chains that actually stock it in UK? Hobbycraft or something?

Also - I did think as I was doing the front scroll that I should\'ve spaced it out a bit more... I may well redo it.

I also experimented with \"Shrink it!\" or \"Shrinkies\" as someone discovered on a thread a while ago - unfortunately, as they don\'t lose any actual mass, the shrinking process causes them to thicken, so although the writing I did is now nice and small, it would look a bit weird if I attached it.

(I\'ll try and get a photo of it later today)

OK - I went with some scripture for the side door (Psalm 25 I believe - the King John version)

RhinoSidedoor.jpg

And did some standard white scribble for some other panels.

I\'ve noticed 1 or 2 messy parts here and there, and I will try and either tidy them up, or disguise them with some more wear :D lol

I\'d have changed it to \"for the Emperor is with me\"

Uber: why can\'t I find any photos from those movies on the intraweb?
I found a fake movie poster though:

mm yeah, I thought about it, but I figured the big E has so many different names that people would know who I meant. (You obviously did)

Does the writing itself look ok?
(took about 3 attempts)

I know it\'s not exactly all the same size and the lines could be straighter, but I think it looks OK.

Plus the non uniformity of the clarity helps the dirtied look IMO.

I went into a pub in Newcastle before the smoking ban ;) lol

Seriously :p There IS a place for drybrushing!
And weathering is it!

I started with a few different shades of brown - (dependant on what your base colour is) and removed most of the paint so that you could only see the paint if you brushed quite heavily.

(Remember to leave a bit longer for drybrushed paint to \"attach\" itself, as it doesn\'t have the benefit of moisture)

After a few layers the brown was done.

Then I did the same with black, but made sure that the paint was hardly visible.
The black went on the inside on the brown, so that the edges were visible, and each layer worked inwards, to give a blending effect.

I think that\'s it.

(Oh - remember to do paint chips, damage etc BEFORE you do the smoke)

I won\'t be painting chips, but I did want a very slight scorched effect around something im painting and yours looks really effective.

Cheers buddy :D

I dunno how easy that would be to do on a small area, but it works fine for larger areas like tanks :p

If you want a similar effect on something like a plasma gun, then it might be easier(!) to use inks, but I haven\'t had the same success with them...

OK... Here is the latest update.

I\'m thinking it\'s pretty much finished now...
Unless anyone can see anything obvious I\'ve missed?

If not, I\'ll be submitting and eBayin this fella soon.

I think its great love the view screen inside with the little road and grass etc on it. Think the writing on the door matches the feel of the model in as much as it looks like its in the middle of operations and the marines were looking for a bit of extra \"help\". Good job m8 :D
