Howdy folks!!

Been gone a long time, hope you are all doing well.

Good to see everyone!

Just coming home from a trip to Swaziland and South Africa. And I brought something for Bubba!

BUBBA!!!

I discovered this in the depths of Africa. I was out to dinner at a place called The Calabash in Swaziland, and after a wonderful dinner, the locals informed me that I had to partake of their local drink that they called Jungle Juice. They brought everyone at the table a shot glass of clear liquid. We raised a toast and tossed it down. Burned the way down, kind of like moonshine. Not entirely unpleasant!!

Then, they brought the bottle to the table to show us, and it looked like this....

I know the picture isn\'t that great, taken with a camera phone. In case your wondering, yes, the bottle is full of snakes, and lizards...preserved and fermenting in the alcohol.... :D

I thought it was great, my coworker from Abidjan who was traveling with me wasn\'t quite as amused as I was...:|~


So I brought this jar of Jungle Juice all the way from Swaziland for you all to sample...

lol Welcome to Africa, Grumb! Where the cuisine can be questionable at best.

If you\'d had a moment to spare around Johannesburg, you might\'ve dropped a note for a quick drink somewhere, you know. :p

@ LP - :eek: I hope all the guys in kilts remebered to wear their sporrans too, or they may all have to have a seat.

@ Grumb - Eeeeeeeeewwwwwww! No thanks! I know the alcohol killed off any germs and whatnot... but .... ugh, blagh! :|~

So... I\'m not really a big drinker, so can anyone recommend anything? I don\'t like beer (I know... how horrible!) and not anything that can be described as \"dry\".

Suggestions? (so maybe if I ever go to a \"real\" bar again, I\'ll know what to ask for)

As for me, I\'m surprised that somehow that weird Asian guy in a kilt kinda does look a little like me...minus the kilt...and...uh...OK. Anyway!

@ Duende - How about a midori sour? They\'re pretty sweet and about as light as they come while still having alcohol.

a daft old scottish song comes to mind about orgies and how they make the sporran rise yet i cant remember the proper spelling the word they use for orgy altho i belive it is kaylie... but as im not 100% sure i shall sing a different song that goes well with our pirate theme! *throws on his false scottish accent and swings around a brew*

I reckon you\'ll want to start off with a few Smirnoff Ices (which is essentially vodka and bitter lemon), and then as the evening progresses hit the Baileys... :beer:
