Testor\'s Dullcote - Panic over...

Sorry I didn\'t have time to redo the job Bill. But I see you are becoming a dab hand at it yourself.
Good luck with GD. Wish I could be there, but at $2000.00 return and a 24 hour flight I don\'t think so!

Just saw your last minute problem. I use a brush on I got from an art supply shop. Pure matt finish. Try your local art stores!

Maybe you can spray it in a container and use a brush to pick up some and touch the shiny areas.

Not the best way to use it but... :D

there\'s no logical reason it shouldn\'t dry properly so long as you keep the coats light, as Krom says dustings

Thanks for all the help guys. I\'ll give it a shot. I think partly the reason was that my can of dullcote was nearly finished, maybe the dregs were less matt. I\'ll start a fresh one today, and do the hairdryer thing ;)

Thanks!

Granddad!
keep us posted, the fresh can should help

If you lived closer you could have come round and borrowed my dullcoat brush on ;)

Well, I did as you directed and it helped a little bit; some places were more matt while others went more shiny. Shouldn\'t be too much of a problem though.

Thanks :)

Not to scare the crap out of yall, but I tried the brush on once and it took the paint with it and made the face I painted it on mush.

Its a lacquer so it will do.
Especially if its applied too thickly, it will cream off metallics with ease and most other paints too and, again, especially if they are not 100% dry.

Which is why we always advise using a gloss \'undercoat\' before using it (as the gloss is far more paint tolerant)

Bill, how long did it take for your item too arrive.

It\'s been 7 days now since I ordered it and nothing yet.........It\'s not looking good.

Krom - I bought it direct from the website, I haven\'t contacted them yet, as there terms and coniditions say to wait 21 days before e-mailing.

I\'ll leave it a bit longer then I\'ll contact them.

Hi Talion, I would say you will get it shortly, maybe a gentle email, just to enquire, as I\'m sure she is very busy and has maybe overlooked it.

I thoroughly recommend them, so send an email.:D
all the best

Well finally got my Dullcote - 2 weeks a bit slow but at least i got it.

All I can say is Holy Bejesus.

I\'ve heard that this stuff is good, but if you haven\'t used it, you need to see it to believe it.........I use GW Satin varnish, and all my mini\'s were as shiney as newly polished gems...............now after using Matt Dullcote, they are as dull as Paris Hilton.................they\'re looking great
