I\'m pretty impressed with GW, to say the least. Today I decided to pay a visit, knowing it was \'White Dwarf Weekend\'.

The staffers were all very friendly and we had a discussion about this years Golden Demon before I bought the 30th anniversary WD (first WD in about 5 months) and the mini (sculpt isn\'t that impressive, but it looks like a lot of fun to paint :D).

Then they started to give out cake and I picked a bag from a box of a whole lot of other bags... lo and behold, the bag contained the new plastic flagellents. Pretty damn cool.


Anyone else been to a GW lately? :D

Yes, at my local store today, if you spent a certain amount you were able to go for a \'lucky dip\' of plastic sprues. Got some Flagellants as well as Silver plated Necron & Space Marine sprues! They also had the new Dwarf Miner sprues up for grabs as well!!

First time in along while GW have let pre-release stuff go!

I managed to win a couple of prizes in the draw(s) as well. :D
Conflict North tomorrow, and we are both feeling tired now, having traipsed around both Bolton & Manchester.
Martyn\'s busy finishing off his painting Comp entry while I\'m trying to stay awake.

I went in, grabbed a WD, asked about what was going on in the half term then left with no freebies at all! If Tim was still working there I\'d have had free stuff coming out of my eyes :evil:

Yeah, but they have a bits box there full of bike and dark angels bits I wanna raid.

I cant run, I dont do high speed, built for power, not speed.

I got an empire cannon - which I love! and some rats and LOTR figs - a very nice day!
plus I obught the bui!lding set which is a joy to behod! AAAAAAAAAAAH I\'m going to have such fun
with this!!
thanks GW, you are a big capitalitic comp but you still have the heart of a minipainter/gamer (in my GW anyway!)

Correction! That was UK, in the States you can bid on the Miners as well, plus pay $75 Buy it Now for a Plated Marine Sprue!!

Well i was at my local GW (Berlin I) and there you could also draw a sprue from a box when you bought stuff ( I too a WD and the anniversary figure), and i got a Black Orc sprue with 5 orcs, I was happy as I just started orcs&goblins recently, and the plastic black orcs are in no way inferior to the metal ones.

All in all a great idea by GW!

Damn had I known I would have gone over to my GW store. :(

I\'ve had mixed experience with my GW store, but over all there not bad, except mayeb that one guy who tries to sell me the whole store everytime I go in :p

I\'ve just re-subscribed to White Dwarf. I intended to re-subscribe for 2 years and get the free 8 issues on top of the ordinary saving. The sales guy on the phone was an absolute star. By re-subcribing for three years and not the two I intended, I ended up saving £34 on top of the original subscription savings, plus he threw an extra two issues in for free on top, plus he threw me in the special edition goblin general gratis. GW get bad press (and sometimes rightly so) but sometimes they come up trumps!

It was an absolutely fantastic day on saturday. I ended up winning a £145 Orc and Goblin army deal, and then i also got about £60 of extra stuff including some new flagellants. Also got to play Space Crusade which was wikkid. All in All a great weekend.

Took my boy in as he was excited about it, got f all :flame: he tried to join in, but seemed to be just for the locals, mind you i\'ve only spent a couple of grand in there so lol
