The accursed Forgeworld Pilots! Ork finished and on Ebay

So I started painting the Ork.
I decided to leave the Imperial fella for a bit, rather than tempt fate :p

I decided That I wanted his chunky revolver to be similar to Shawn R L\'s snotlings... Although this was my first attempt at SENMM...

Waddya think - not got much further yet - wanted to make sure it looked right before continuing...

Cheers Hubs.

For anyone interested, I used Lightning bolt blues (The old flip top - I dunno if it\'s discontinued or not) for the main blue areas, blended a little lighter to Ice Blue on the uppermost surfaces.

The browns were done with Bestial Brown, and slight blending with Graveyard Earth.
(Over a black undercoat)

The edges and streaks were done with pure Skull White, watered down slightly on the edges to blend.

Just scanning without reading, I thought it was real.

DaN, I think you can continue to paint the rest of the figure.

I\'m not a huge fan of NMM but damn that looks stunning DAN well done mate keep it going and your on to a winner there :D

Looks good to me although a little clean for an ork weapon IMO.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with this as mine is still in his wrapper awaiting a paintjob and inspiration. Strange that more haven\'t cropped up on here as ebay is full of the things....

That\'s an example of how good nmm can be when you do it right, very nice, Dan. And as for the lightning blue, I\'m afraid it is discontinued.

At the moment I\'m working on doing the skin - as I\'ve not had any experience of doing orks.

Another thing I\'m wondering is, whether now that I\'ve done the revolver in SENMM, that the rest of the metals need to be SE/NMM too...
I hope not, as I\'m not sure how I\'d show them being dirty and banged up like most ork stuff...

ALTHOUGH, as this ork is a pilot, maybe I could get away with him being slightly cleaner...

ANYWAY - Haven\'t had chance to take any progress shots todays as it\'s been raining and overcast the whole day.

(As I write this the sun comes out lol, so I may take some b4 it gets dark)
