The accursed Forgeworld Pilots! Ork finished and on Ebay

Also, I had an idea for the basing of the Imperial pilot...

I wanted to have some sort of frame around the base, and I\'ve already added a metal-looking floor in order to make it look like some sort of lift...

The idea is that the lift is raising him into the aircraft - especially with his pose etc.

(I also decided that I could use OSL from the \"inside\" of the aircraft this way too...

The only thing is I\'m not too hot with plasticard... Anyone have any ideas how I can achieve the desired effect...?

If this sounds confusing I will scan in a drawing of the plan.

The whole mini is COOL. Gunmetal looks good from the front. The rear looks undone. Some close ups of the guns would be good. One thing that would help the metal effect is to put a stripe of a neutral brown with a touch of white on the underside of the barell and whatever the bullet thingie is called. Bring it up and blend with the black horizon line.....This is a really good fig. Havent read the thread. Is it a conversion or something available to purchase?

@Shawn - Could you clarify your tip? :p
The figure is a limited edition Forgeworld.
And the other side IS unfinished. (I wanted to try it out first to see if I liked it)

The latest update is a simple base.
I decided to keep it FAIRLY simple, as he\'s gonna get eBayed :p

Latest conundrum is - wondering what colour to do the top part of the strapping (Which goes over his shoulders to the parachute pack)

Do not skimp on the base- especially for auction!!!

Even a simple painted sand and static grass would look 10 times better than that flocked half arsed effort he is currently standing on!!

I agree with the orky one that base needs to compliment the paintjob. ATM it\'s way too bright and makes the rest of the min look shabby and dark.

Suggestion: get hold of some ready mixed filler (for plasterin\' n\' that) spread liberally onto a base, wait till it\'s dry then sand it flat and paint like a tarmac runway. The best bit about the filler is that you can gouge chunks out of it and it looks authentically like potholes. If you paint it a dark tarmac colour it should make the rest of the mini kick out in the photo.

@ Shawn - yep those are two of the guys I based the revolver on - so what you\'re saying is that the lower part of the brown SENMM area needs lightening...?

@OD and UD... Hmm, Yeah, I guess the flock IS a bit bright for him at the mo...

The thinking was that he\'d just bailed out over normal grassy terrain...

Fortunately that terrain would be easy to redo as I did it with clay, so it\'ll just chip off...

EDIT: Crappy base removed.
Any ideas? I LIKE the runway idea, but I\'ll save it for another time.

Yes, the barell is picking up some light from below. If you make it real light it will give the SENMM effect more of a mirror look, where as a darker reflection will give it less so......somewhat.

Cheers Shawn, I\'ll try that later.

But for now, I had the idea of doing the base covered with the wreckage of the bomma :p

What do ya think of THIS one then...?
(He\'s not glued, so I can change it again if needs be)

i\'ll be honest dan its just too hard to critique without better pictures. i would recommend photographing indoors with a light rig. or if you shoot outside make sure to shoot with your back to the sun. i know it sounds like simple things but it really will help.

rock on
