Youtube seems to be overflowing with ignorant jack@sses. There seems to be an anti-semitic around every corner, and there is simply no escape from the ill-informed conspiracy theorists who tend to type in leet-speak. The concept behind youtube is great, but I just hate how you can\'t post a video without some complete tool criticising it with no motive in sight (but perhaps to get a rise).

I\'ve had someone create a new account, spam on my video, and a few MONTHS after I blocked them, created a new account (the same name with a \"2\" beside it) and spam again. What they are saying isn\'t too bad compared to some of what I see, but the point is, it really isn\'t fun. Especially when the video was of a battle of the bands where all we wanted to do was have fun and play some music.

The person\'s account is shoberdink2. They live for nothing but posting derogatory things on a video.

ANYhow I\'m straying off topic, what are your thoughts on youtube?

You READ the comments? I think most of them are either racist/anti-semitic/homophobic rubbish, \"l33t-speak\", or pure spam. The others are \"cool vid\" or \"this vid sucks\" - not really worth reading either.

I wouldn\'t even bother allowing comments on your videos. Anyone you care to hear from probably already has your email address.

I guess you\'re right. Thought I found it entertaining when a bunch of youtube users were terrified that a girl who came over from Africa in 1945 was going to kill them if they didn\'t post that message on three other videos.

I find it odd that it took Youtube to point this out to you. The internet has been filled with this schlock since the 80s. (and yes it has been around since the 80s, it was text based, called Archie and it pretty much sucked, but it let you get your misguided opinion out to the world).

Edit: (well not a real edit, I\'m still typing, but an edit, or a PS, or and addendum none the less) yes I also know the internet is older then the 80s, it\'s one of the few things I remember from my wasted comp sci degree.

I wouldn\'t call it real life really. Just what others have said previously - a bunch of nothing-to-do\'s with a shitty opinion that have the need to waste space on my monitor with their crap. I\'ll allow them the option of real life or fantasy, but it\'s in neither of mine.

1. I\'m insulted that you think I\'m that ignorant. I was just using a personal experience with this as an example to discuss youtube.
2. Youtube isn\'t real per se, it\'s virtual. There aren\'t many people who would shout out insults at small gigs or diss miniatures being shown to them at a hobby store, yet anyone can hide behind account names and do this on videos.
