I agree with Vike - Hirst arts buildings on Mars would be way cooler.

Instead of his dots of colour can\'t they just send him up with Beagle 2.Would then save me from ever having to set eyes on that stuff he calls art.

It\'s not even a new piece of \"art\", he\'s been doing those dots for years. Hell, he doesn\'t even do them himself. He gets people to select a colour and they get put randomly together.

No, it all depends on what the stuffs aimed at.

preferably the sun.

Theres no point in blasting him into space IN the rocket, just strap him to the pad, and take a photo, possibly in lovely black and white, with color spots, of the remaining black stain.

I just dont see what cutting a cow in half has to do with artwork, mostly cause Ive seen the same thing on every farm Ive ever been on.

My favourite piece of work against the \"art\" community, was some guy putting on an exhibition, all kinds of colour splat stuff all over the walls, let all the art critics drool over it, then bring in the monkey (literally) that painted it all.

Once theyd spent hours going on about the tortured artists rubbish they all love so much.

Assuming you\'re being serious, good on you for holding your own opinion. My objection to Hirst is less of an aesthetic opinion and more a reaction against his... *ahem* ...optimistic self image.

I am very bummed by this whole turn of events.

My understanding was that the lander was to be coushioned with Hirst Arts molds. Then it would begin collecting martian soil and other minerals to start molding bricks.

Once enough bricks had been cast, then another lander-bot would arrive to begin assembly. Upon completion, we would have a new freak bar on Mars.

I mean cmon, once the humans land, they will need a pub.

I\'d be more impressed if the camera landed and found Banksy\'s work there. Imagine the slogans, 20ft tall, decorating various cliffs! I know he\' s not everyone\'s cup of tea, but he\'s got humour at least...
