Thanks, after much deliberation i am going for a blue cloak, this might get changed to purple if it goes wrong, the sword handle is not quite finished ye so that is where the black areas are showing unless you mean the part where the pommel meets the grip which is intentional.
As for the base I haven\'t made a definate decision yet, I am thinking of using the base from Marco Columbo but we will see.

Yeah, I think blue is a good idea....I was going to say purple, but that may ruin the subtlty you have going on with the yellow and the small purple trim.

Yep, I think blue would look nice. Something like the stuff that hangs from his belt, but a little lighter. Same hue, though...

Wow your stuff just looks so good. Love the metals. I use the same but mine never seem to come out as good as you. Oh well back to painting.

Great stuff.

Hey Tim:
I was thinking of a Blue cloak as well, something like a Regal Blue. But having read your recent post I\'m thinking that Deep purple toning of the shadows needs to be considered as well.
Ah what a dilemma. :D

I plumped for blue in the end it was a Ultramarine/Regal Blue mix, the cloak is not yet finished I still have to wrok on smoothing out some of the blends but I don\'t tnik I shall highlight any further. Once I have finished the cloak then I have to turn my attention to the scabbards which I am thinking I may go for a turquoise colour or maybe even white.

I need to get these areas done and also the cord around the front and the scabbards before I can get on with the shield.

Looking at the earlier post, I was thinking deep blue to light highlights or the same with purple as some of the guys already suggested. I reckon you nailed it :)
The yellow banding sets it of nicely too, look forward to the finished article, this has a lot of promise methinks, not even finished and lookin great!

Finaly this bad boy is finished, I have had alot of fun with him even though he about sent me cross eyed with all the detail. I think the colour scheme works well and finally got the cloak looking right.

I like it BUT it is the reason I haven\'t based up my elf lord that I started at about the same time lol. Just kidding mine was just a quickie - I have just been to lazy to finish it.

I especially like the yellow of the robe, very nice.

Looks great! Your metallics are great as always - I find myself using your miniatures as reference for metallics often. The overall color scheme is great - the yellow is especially well done.

Beautiful...just beautiful. I love the blue cape. Its creamy goodness. The only ruff spot is the sword higlights closest to the ground kind of just look like lines painted on the sword as opposed to the rest of the highlighting which is perfect! Anyways great job all together:)

Edit: Oh and I forgot to mention that the sheild was SuperFly!

WoW stunning, the colour\'s just work so well together.

In fact if I ever do a elf army may have to \"borrow\" your colours

I can only hope to reach your standard for the metals, they are dreamy.

great job!
