I found one more photo of my friends deck, with his million dollar view (literally and figuratively). Talk about a nice place to relax on a sunny afternoon.

This picture is actually taken out my back door, living in a desert, we tend to have rather large fires very frequently, the hill behind our house burns every three to four years, My husband is a fire fighter, and in actually out trying to put out the fire in this picture.

Yay, first marriage proposal of \'05 I think (even if it wasn\'t for real :( )

But Gin I actually have very fond memories of your part of the world, well actually north-east oregon, which is sort of like south-east washington, but I used to raft down the Deschutes river a lot when I lived up in Portland, with landscape very much like what you posted, it brought back good memories. :)

Very cool pictures everyone! The best we could do is to post pictures of our back yard - which has construction going on at the moment! We\'re having a screened-in porch put on so it\'s kind of rough right now.

OR, we could put a picture of a big hunk of granite sticking out the ground, that a bunch of southerners decided to carve some faces into (no, not Mt. Rushmore - Stone Mountain, GA. We\'re sooo original down here!)

I can\'t figure out how to post pics here
??? so when Scott (Grumb) gets done painting I\'ll get him to do it.

I didn\'t realize I\'d missed so many posts - arghhh! Now I know why Scott loves Monterrey Bay so much - absolutely beautiful. I, unfortunately, haven\'t been there - yet! Well Eric, you would\'ve had two marriage proposals after that picture post if I thought Scott wouldn\'t see it! ;)

@Becca - Florida\'s great and we love it there too!

@Astonia - were you able to visit Tybee Island beaches when you went by Savannah? It\'s definitely not CA or FL, but it\'s nice enough and a great party pier!

Didn\'t someone post a link here to a picture host site or am I just losing my mind?

Astonia, Stephen King... Portland Maine...
Eric was talking Portland Oregon, the other side of the country :D

Eric, I love Eastern Washington, I was raised on the west side of the state, so lush and green and FULL of people! Its not as pretty here, but I love it just the same!

Red, Photobucket.com, great hosting site, I have used it for months now with no problems!

@ Red Dawn. Well, we visited some island there (I can\'t quite remember, it\'s been a few years) that used to be like a summer resort for the wealthy people during the 18oos (I think), but now it\'s open to everyone. The island had the longest beach I have ever seen, we walked for about 30 minutes without seeing the end of it. I think this was outside of Savannah...anyway, it was very beautiful.

@Gin1906 Oh, I see, sorry :D It\'s just that I was a huge Stephen King fan when I was younger, so I\'ve always wanted to go to Maine. And especially Bangor, he always talks about Bangor in his books.

@Astonia - Yep, I think that was it. Although, most of those little islands were the hangouts for the rich and famous at one time or another.

We were there this summer with the boys and then again in November just the two of us. Scott and I stayed at a fantastic bed & breakfast for our anniversary and just walked the beach, sat on the huge front porch and drank - all in all a great trip. We were going to go to Hilton Head, the next island north, this summer, but I think the screened-porch addition has put a hold on that!

After those last posts of CA we may be headed there for our next anniversary! Actually, we were supposed to go there and to San Francisco for our 10th anniv., but Bennett was still undergoing chemo and I didn\'t want to go far away so we ended up in FL.

If you\'re ever in the States and over this way again give us a shout. We\'d love to play tour guides - especially if it means a trip to the beach!

Actually it would be so much fun to do that trip again, but to visit all the mini painting friends I\'ve made here at CMoN. Cause I\'ve already seen the touristy things, it would be fun to be shown the *real* things.

Hm, now to figure out a way to become rich :D

Actually, Scott\'s been able to meet one or two people on his business trips. He got to meet Margo in Moscow in Nov. and around that time he was supposed to meet Peter in London, but wasn\'t able to hook up. One of these days, when the kids are older, I\'ll actually be able to travel with him some. Right now I\'m just pulling mommy-duty.

Of course, if you ever figure out how to get rich let me know! Just definitely put Atlanta on your itinerary and we\'ll show you all the \"real\" places to go!

lol

@Nathan - it\'s sad isn\'t it! The worst is that I\'ve actually seen a \"highrise\" before - on Tybee Island. It looked just like that only the whole thing was in the air. We had to stop the car just to see if what we saw was really a trailer on that many cinderblocks.

I really want to get that deer-ass doorbell for my dad, though. He\'d love it!

(snicker)

Sadly I\'ve seen these in one form or another and worse at times when I\'ve wished for a camera while touring the south or living in it and getting lost on some back assward roads and just hoping you don\'t run across someone with a shotgun.

Fun stuff though.
