Yeah. I haven't begun working on the holes and scratches yet. I put down a thin layer or two of P3 Sanguine Base, and then started layering on GW Evil Sunz Scarlet.

Cloak work. The armor has its blue, purple and yellow glazes. The cloak is a bit more reddish brown in reality, but I can't be arsed to tweak the camera settings all day for a WIP haha.

Ha! What do you mean, cass? The updating, or the GD WIP? Either way, you could be correct, sir...

Yay for camera settings! And someone decided to try out the cork! lol!

Take an Xacto and break up the straight edges though - otherwise it will be a dead give away what you're using. You'll also want to disguise it with sand and anything else you can think of. When I spoke with GW customer service trying to get a rule clarification, I mentioned the word cork and they told me not to use it because it looks cheap and trashy. hehe! But as long as you disguise it, you're good to go.

Also, I have a bit of a dilemma. I want to keep him dark, so that the red sticks out. However, being a champion of Khorne, I was going to make certain parts of the armor (chest skull, wings around the shoulder) gold. But I don't want to brighten the mini that much. Gold doesn't form a patina like brass or bronze, so I can't use that trick. Ideas?

Liar, you are just making that up. I know that was your base but now that she called you out on it you are back-peddling.

Anyway, I am liking h ered, and I am curious to see how you handle the horns.

I am interested in what you do wih the horns as well...the one on his right side looks like an odd bi of sculpting. The shading of the cloak and the reds look fantatic in these photos.

As for the gold, you could go with a darker gold almost bronze or considering he doesn't appear to be breathing i would imagine he does not worry about keeping it polished. So you could use gold and darken it up with grime and dried blood.

What are you thinking of doing with the helmet plume? Work there may help offset the golds.

Good idea Krule. One horn is broken. (Sculpted that way). I've got some plans for the plume and the horns. In fact, that's what I'm about to work on!
