Isn\'t that a bit of an oxymoron? ;)

Well, you of all people know that I really shouldn\'t be making fun of other\'s computers. :D

That\'s one of the reason I love blizzard so much. Not only do they do great games but they make them on Mac :D
@Nelson: weren\'t you having some problemes with your computer, now that wouldn\'t happen if it was a Mac ;)

Ok, the gf is now beta\'ing on WOW, this means i won\'t get to use the computer much for a while... :D

She says that WOW is awesome, when compared to her opinion of EQII o guess there is a winner in her opinion.
My only complaint is that it took 2 days to download the beta

So, be warned, keep an eye out for a Night Elf Rogue that will as soon kick you in the head and nick your stuff as look at you [she\'s lovely really.]

I have been playing the beta for several days.

So far, I find it amusing. It\'s a little too cutesy for my tastes, but it certainly addresses some of the issues I\'ve seen in other MMORPG\'s.

Me no played beta....

Me play D2 :D

But they are releasing it soon no? Is already in the stores? So why is it still inbeta and also in stores (thus printed already)?????

Also, 15$ per month seems a bit pricey.

Then again, I might totally fall for this one.

Nah... Though that would be kind of a nice idea mind you.. To make games that would actually go with miniatures... From the top of my head I could think of something in a scifi setting and something in a fantasy setting. And if we play it real smart we change the rules once a while and make new minis to go with it that people HAVE to buy if they want to keep up to date...

Sorry, I let my imagination run wild for a while there... that would never work, silly me.:bouncy:

Not if there\'s a troll priest who can help the unfortunate victim ;)

Too bad the US open beta ended today :(

I\'m also looking to maybe start playing an MMORPG. I\'m looking for a game where you get to explore a big world, mainly by playing solo, but with enough interaction possibilities with other players (like in cities etc).

I\'ve read a lot about Everquest 2. The game is considered to be good, but from what I\'ve heard soloing isn\'t really encouraged and travel across the world is made very easy by boats and griffons. I know someone who played Acheron\'s Call for a while, and I found it very fascinating that he a travel from one region to another could take up several hours. Of course there was plenty to see (and fight) underway.

So what kind of game is WoW? I\'ve read something about making small parties of 8 players, but what about soloing? And how big is the world?

And is this type of games also accessible for Casual players? I mean, I\'ve heard about guys who play all night, seven days a week. I think I\'d play one or two nights a week at max (still want to do some othe stuff like mini painting :)).

I\'m now off to do some reading :)

Yeah , I am in the beta too , life has settled a bit over the past few weeks so now I can do some things , one of them is wait and wait and wait for my bases to arrive , the other , play WoW . I\'m enjoying it a lot more than DAoC for instance , there is just something about it , and has someone already mentioned , the different races / storylines etc . Partying means you get the harder quests , but mostly have gone solo , which is really easy to do . Enjoying it so far but I think beta ends today , may go for the Euro beta , or maybe not , have to be another char wipe , I dont think I could stand it :p . I expect I will have to wait until the New Year when it is released over here :) roll on .

Take care

Yeah. I\'m going to have to get it. I\'ve seen a lot of the guys around here walking around with their copy, or a tactics book. I was like what\'s that. One of my students told me. The old man has to catch up.lol

So are They people from the forum planning on playing world of warcraft. I had been folowing early development and then kind of lost sight of it. And just whent to the blizzard site today and found that they are now tons of trailers to watch and a lot more news. And I have to say the gaame is looking absolutly amazing. I probably won\'t be playing until at least the end of the school year since that would definetly be sucide :p But might just let myself be tempted afterwards :D

In the beta I\'ve soloed all my characters except for some bigger quest at low levels I couldn\'t do alone, they got level 12 before the beta ended. Soloing is a very good option in Wow

That\'s good I actually like soloing. Now I have to think of a caracter that would be nice to play. I think a night elf hunter or thief could do it. It\'s going to hard to wait for the end of the school year before starting to play :p

now check this out

(Europe only)

Pre-order starts on 26 november. You\'ll be sure to get the game when it will hit stores (february?), AND you get a soundtrack cd AND a key for the Final European Beta test when you place your pre-order.

Sounds tempting :bouncy:

If I\'m joining, then my best friend will probably do the same, and another fellow-gamer we know will also join us. And maybe Tuubje also? :)

It would be cool to team up with other people we know....
