want suggestions for a base

I am currently painting the guy in the middle in this pic.

reaper dwarves

He\'s got his legs spread very far apart, as you can see it\'s almost corner to corner on the base.
Standing on the ground like that seems a bit boring to me. So, I was thinkin he should be standing on something, sort of like he jumped up there to bellow a challenge.

Here\'s what I\'ve thought of so far:
2 barrels
2 big rocks
the handrails at the top of a short flight of steps - made to look like the steps to the poop deck of a ship.

Please, as many suggestions as you can come up with would be appreciated.

How aboput stood on something like a jetty making him look like he\'s waiting to attack whatever is approaching the jetty from an imaginary river. Just a thought but I think that would look cool.

Man, are you asking for it

- each foot atop a badger
- one foot in a badger hole, the other on a badger
- straddling a supine talon of Rok
- astride a surfboard (the rare Hawaiian dwarf)
-one foot on a rock and the other on a \"hard place\"

oddly, the snowboard/surfboard is tempting.

Another one I didn\'t mention was one foot on each of a pair of circus horses.

My first though was along a log/fallen tree. And how about on top of a low wall (those dwarves are nimble little buggers!)

Standing on top of a coffin of his dead cousin No thats been done. Maybe standing over the body of his latest victum or on the ground staring down at a rather bold rodent. All the above ideas sound good especially the snowboard.

Ooo!! I like either the skateboarder or circus horses ideas!
How about a little conversion work? Change teh ax for a long pole and make him into a gondolier

I like it! All those Venitian gondoliers wear full plate armor you know.

I\'m not doing any conversion as this is a contest piece.
A new idea I had but don\'t think I have time to execute is standing on the backs of a couple of spread-eagled goblins he just jumped on from behind, driving their faces into the mud.

i say pin him and make too bases. one surfboard base and one with the table. why limit yourself to just one? or starp some rat s to his feet, et voila - rat-er-skates

I went with what I thought was simplest because I would have time to do it, and even after totally ruining my first attempt, I think I managed to pull it off.
