warhammer battle for skull pass

Starter level pack for warhammer. Gives you the rules and two small armies. Not a bad set if this is your entry into the hobby.

Warhammer is the most tactical of the three GW games. (LOTR being the easiest and 40k in the middle).

If you are a raw novice you might be better going for LOTR since the gameplay is simple and you can get away with a limited (small) number of figures.

Hope this helps

Orcs and Gobbos are unpredictable and great fun, plus they have the widest range of units within their army. So you can paint lots of different types of mini\'s. Dwarfs are a sit back and shoot army that are great in combat so do not require a lot of tactical knowledge.

If you want an army which will win almost every time, go for bretonnians. They are just broke.

For now you should really focus on learning the basics and working with the starter set\'s contents. Try not to start leaping ahead even if the models are really nice and sparkly! There\'s no need in having a truck load of models until you are ready for them... well, I say that but I do have about £10,000 worth of unassembled, unpainted minis in my room!

Wow, straight back in there, you must be as bored as I am today! You can probably find all the painting advice you need on the GW web pages and here. If you want a handy guide to always have by you it is OK, it\'s how I learnt, but if there was a site like CMON around when I started I probably wouldn\'t have needed the guide so much.

And yeah, it is an awful lot of figures. You may well be in the same situation sooner than you expect if you aren\'t careful. Mini collecting is a terrible curse!
