Does anyone play this?

A friend just gave me a load of old Warzone minis and some of them are quite cool - others not so much.
Just curious about the interest level.

Don\'t play but...

I don\'t play, but I recently stumbled over some of the minis too. I love them. They are impossible to find (other than EBAY)

I wanted to order some from Prince August, but they charge more shipping than seems right.

Warzone went \"toes up\" a few years ago, but there were a few players around in the Manchester area.
As for Prince August\'s sales & postage prices they are located in the Republic of Ireland and the conversion from Euros to Dollars isn\'t as much in the favour of the USA as it used to be.
If you are desperate for the figures I\'m sure a nice European ;) might help out. :D

im pretty sure Travelling Man in Newcastle has about 4 blister packs from this range. They have a beastman style look about the minis, and you get about 8 in a pack.

Well, at least we know he has a sense of humour.;)

Warzone was a really good game. It actually moved better than 40K. I guess the minis kept it from catching on.

They also made a skirmish level game called Fury of the Clans. It was alot fo fun too. But you could only play two factions. Do you know hte name of any of the minis you own?

Mostly imperials. One is an unopened box squad, and several loose minis are the same as the box cover. (gas masks, tattered cloaks, big nasty guns - 1chain gun).
There\'s also some bizarre guy called something like Red Sky Cavalry. He\'s got some sort of VTOL jet pack on his back and looks like he\'s having a very painful bowel movement.

Ah...on second look, I believe they fixed the postal problem...

I was going to place an order a month or so ago....for 30 dollars worth of goods, they wanted to charged 70 in shipping!! i e-mailed and asked if this was correct, but no one bothered to respond....

Now as I look, the same 30 dollars of product would be about 10 dollars of shipping.....That sound much more reasonable.....But now do I trust an order to a firm that cannot answer a simple e-mail?

I still have some of the oold Warzone stuff, I have a cool looking trike thing with a Wolf\'s head for a fairing, a couple of imperial guard looking figures that havee jump pack things and also one or two of the monsters as well. I kinda liked them and have thought about getting some of the minis from Prince August myself.

The unit are called Trenchers.

Warzone was a good game but so many different companies have tried to put it out and they have all gone tits up.

Wow! You expect a mini company expected to answer E-mails. Don\'t you know they\'ve all been infected by the same virus from the Willow Road Crew. ;)

Heh! I have found it to be a very reliable source when ordering online. I usually pose the company a question via e-mail...and if there is a timely response I feel much more comfortable about placing an order. No response=no order. Many a company is losing my money because of that!

Warzone...

AFAIK, it was originally a product of Target Games who promoted it heavily in the mid 90s. There were Boxed games, magazines, the whole nine yards. They went under and the British side of things became i-Kore who then became Urban Mammoth. Internationally there have been a number of re-launches and it is a shame it has never really taken off in the way it deserves to as it has some good stuff. There was also a sister game called Chronopia which was equally as good and had some magnificent figures. I have loads of their stuff and if anyone wants a figure identified I can probably look it up in one of their old catalogues.

Coming back soon from Fantasy Flight

FYI, Warzone is to be re-released in 2007 by Fantasy Flight games. This will be under the old Mutant Chronicals brand. The bad part (at least in my opinion):

It\'s going to be a pre-painted collectable miniature game like D&D and Star Wars Minis.
