Freakily enough I was thinking about this very thing last week. My theory was that Darth Vader allowed the Death Star to be destoyed in order to eliminate Grand Moff Tarkin - the only remaining layer of aurhority between him and the Emperor. Thus making himself Deputy Emperor and in charge of the entire galaxy when the Emp is on holiday.

Now it all makes sense. The Death Star was just step 1 on Vadar\'s scheme for galactical domination, it culminating with his assassination of the Emperor.

That or it was all just pretty darn hokey. :drunk:
