What is the \'\'Reported\'\' status??

Every second week or so, one of my miniature pages, and most frequently #64201 becomes unavailable, unlisted in the top 10, and my user account page displays the status \'\'Reported\'\' instead of \'\'active\'\'. Why? What does that mean? Every time that happens I get flooded by messages from people asking why I took my model out, but I didn\'t!

Please shed some light!

Is it hosted externally? If so it may be taking too long too load and coming up as a broken image. Often enough and the pic is reported. This seems to be the most common reason.

Basically if someone doesn\'t wait for the image to load, if it\'s due to an externally hosted photo loading slow due to server traffic, or someone on dial up not wanting to wait, or someone just clicking through photos too fast, it will registered as failed to load, and there is some mechanism of the site that decides when to make the photo \"reported\" and borg has to reactivate...I believe.

It happens to me often, particularly on photos which see high traffic (like I\'m sure yours do), I\'ve never had it stay reported for very long :)

The reason for this is because you picture file size is fairly large and hosted externally. If it fails to load enough times for viewers, it gets reported and remove from the gallery until a mod approves it again. Trust me, I have approved your submission over and over again, next time, upload it directly to CMON and host the picture here. If your work isn\'t so freakin amazing, I would have deleted that entry long time ago. But unfortunately, there is no way to move the picture now, you will erase all your score and comments.

@borg - Hi! Nice to see you posting here. Anyhow, couldn\'t he resize the picture wherever it is hosted? As long as he doesn\'t change the file name it shouldn\'t disturb all the CMON votes and comments. Or am I wrong here? I know I have resized linked photos from photobucket in the forums when the pics appeared to large in a post.

I think Markus should be right, I\'ve done this and even completely changed a photo once (removed a angle to make to other images larger) not just resized it, and just posted the new photo to the EXACT same url and cmon started displaying that one instead. The only odd thing is that when you change the photo the thumbnail does not reflect the change, I guess it cmon just creates one at the start and keeps it.

You are absolutely correct. Since the image is hosted externally, he can resize it a little so that it will stop getting reported.

Sorry, I wasn\'t being clear. In my reply, I suggested that he hosts his images on CMON server. I was just telling him that he can do that in the future, but existing images will have to stay where they are or risk losing the history.
