What has changed in the hobby in the years I've been away?
Is it all airbrushing now? Are Vallejo paints still considered good?
Has everyone converted to 40mm scale?
I haven't painted a mini in about 6 years, but that's about to change.

Welcome back. Airbrush hasn't taken over but is definitely got a firm place in the hobby, the same for 40mm.
and vallejo is definitely considered good still.

I think 52mm and 75mm are a lot more common than 40mm. Those seem to be the scale of choice for display painters.

I did a couple busts back then, but they didn't go over well. mainly because they were just odd.
I'm going to stick with 25ish mm for my own pleasure, but I've got some massive Usagi minis in need of paint.
