What about that old saw that putting metal inside a microwave will make the magnetron blow up? Never seemed to bother the one we first got in my family that it had a heating element hanging from the ceiling... so I always suspected that was slightly less than accurate

Anyone else watch Mythbusters on Discovery? I think the coolest thing you can do with a microwave is boil water inside a mug embedded in a block of ice!
