Wasn\'t going to post any of my GD wips but I couldn\'t resist, the feedback is often required for the best mini that is within my ability.

I will try and find the middle path between Lono\'s \"Imminent Failure\" and thecatman\'s \"Definite Slayer\", but no promises on either.. ;)

I think you\'ll notice in the title of the post that \"GD\" only appears on one part......so I suspect the tanker isn\'t for it!

The Russian tanker is from a firm called Alpine Miniatures, and is 1/35 scale.

looking forward to see your progress

I really like that russian guy. Its a very nice sculpt.

The cenobite GW guy looks ok, but the cast or undercoat looks very rough. He seems to have a lot of texture. It may just be very unflattering photos, but without a smooth base its very hard to get a good finish.

Nigel.

@Orb
Hi haven\'t seen you about much lately. Did you get to euromilitaire this year? and if so did you enter anything?

Yes....i\'m back

kinda got peed off with the hobby for a bit! But after so many years at it, i\'m not walking away......!!

Yeah, went to Euro....excellent as ever, although the fantasy judging was slightly odd, which i suspect will be rectified next year. I have a figure to post soon....

I think the gd model is ok, but it seems \"plain\". as in, not much detail. if I were you I would do some freehand ???.

it does look quite rough as well.

Unfortunately the spray was a bit rough but it seems to disappear after the paint goes on.

@thecatman - Where is it plain? It\'s a WIP, you realise.. freehand usually comes last.

I mean not much sculpted detail. I know how freehand comes last but it can be quite hard sometimes. the skin looks good though ;)

So Imminent Slayer or Failure Definite ? ;)

The base on the Russian Tank Crew Looks decent so far, but I think it could benefit from a little more height in it. Nothing major, just make the ground undulate a little more perhaps. I assume it\'s all going to be painted over and whatnot too.

As for the GD Large entry. Painting\'s pretty nice so far. As has been said, the undercoat is really ragged looking and I can\'t imagine that is going to help when it comes to getting the robes looking right, but the skin is pretty nice and the pillar on the base is starting to look very nicely weathered.

ok, so heres the PSed comparison, just to show a bit more what i mean:

comparison.jpg

you can see how i still keep your tones and shades, but by adding more fleshy tone i take away the red effects, and keep it looking like skin....also darkening under the eyes helps brings more focus to them with the eyebrows so bright

the cheeks are highlighted a bit less because they arent sharp, they are soft are rounded..you could increase contrast there if needed, just maintain the same overall blending, dont speed it up

**ps sorry for the white border, i didnt crop it :p
