Thank you Andy. I can\'t wait to see the other CMONer\'s interpretation of this mini. I think that Mike and Finn have one, and of course so does Tracy :).

I wouldn\'t count too much on seeing finn\'s mini ;) I think he just buys mini thinking that some day he\'ll paint them :p

That\'s a good looking mini! The sculpt seems very nice and I like your skin colour. Is the skin finished? It could do with some further highlighting. Hope to see it finished soon! I might order one when it\'s released... :D

@Ritual.....Ive got the light source to do on the skin.Ive done that many pale skinned girls lataly I dont want to fall into that trap,he should be tanned a bit.
Kev White is for me the best sculptor around. This figure is fantastic and the orc head is awesome.I have a spare body so Im going to do the orc too,and just paint up the black guys head as an example.Im doing this for the company so kept to the usual Conan look, probobly the one most will be interested in.

Klute, nice work on that skin, and I think that pose is great, it looks like he\'s either attacking or covering up the fact he\'s competely naked except for the boots

@Klute : Nice barbarian, can\'t wait to see him finished. By the way, Taban regularly cast new Barbarian Huntresses, so I guess you could get one later whenever you want ;).

The highlighting I was referring to was just the light source highlights to break that uniform look where all highlights are equally strong. So I guess we\'re on the same track!

Well after a bit of a break (5+ months) I finally decided to crack down and get working on my Golden Demon entries. I hardly expect to win anything, but its fun never-the-less.

Here we have the champion for my Zombie Knight\'s Unit. I\'m really tempted to remove the left hand and give him a shield (I\'ve been advised otherwise for realism, but the artistic license inside of me if getting pissed off at that idea). Anyways certain parts are done, the skin on both the horse and rider, the barding and the shaft of the scythe. The metal on the mini is in varying states of completion (none except the back arch is fully complete. To be noted, the pics have been fooled around with in photoshop, purely for colour balance reasons (damn lighting).

And if at all possible avoid tryintg to soften any blows or what-not. I\'d prefer your opinions straight as its the easiest way to sort out mistakes and strengths. If I have no strengths, ah well, better luck next time I suppose lol .

Well, I like the skin on the zombie FredrickvonCarstein.

I just recieved my first Rackham mini in the mail yesterday (Sunday, but it came Friday, but I was out of town, not like it matters). I am excited because I love all the detail, but there were definitely several molding problems that were more than I was used to. Anyway, I have filed, assembled, filled gaps, based and undercoated. BUT, oh no! I broke off the scythe. I really need your advice on how to fix it. It is too small, I think to drill and pin, but just glue won\'t hold it well, so PLEASE HELP!!!

Here it is ready for priming:

And here it is based, and BROKEN!

Thanks in advance for any help/encouragement,

@James - try drilling out the hand to fit a few mm of the weapon shaft into the hole - i.e. use the shaft as its own pin. It\'ll be slightly shorter but that\'s better than it falling off again.

@spanton - looks good, I especially think the fur will look great when it\'s finished. The red is rich, don\'t highlight it up too much more IMO.

I\'ve progressed a bit on my mini exchange figure:

I\'m struggling with the NMM right now, as it\'s hard to see it looking metallic when it\'s only half-done. It still just looks yellow. Also I\'m not sure how to handle the finely-textured fur. I think it is too fine to wash grey and drybrush white. I might treat it as a monolithic entity and just shade the folds etc as if it was not textured.

@No Such Agency- BRILLIANT!! Thanks, that should work! I knew there had to be a way. Your mini is looking good. As for the fur dilema, or however you spell that, I think the idea to treat it like regular cloth would be good, or maybe in combination with stippling paint on, aka making your own texture. Might not be a good idea, but my mini has part of the tail that didn\'t mold right, and is just flat, so I will have to paint strands of hair on the flat metal.

James....what NSA said.
NSA........looking great, dont worry about the nmm, mine never looks right until the final white light source is on and then it seems to pop.Fur painting, basecoat the whole lot dark grey then treat it like you say as cloth BUT instead of layering on the highlights drybrush them on.ie the shaded parts will end up a darker grey and the top highlights white.Does that make sense.

Tab....excellent.Dont forget to gloss varnish the eyes etc.Love the red.
