Work In Progress

With my forthcoming involvement with the paint aid project I thought I would do a test mini of an Ogre Bull. It is going to be painted GW style and it is a lengthy process as the colours are quite poor covering.

Hope you like it, furhter highlights to the skin are going to be added as well as some backshading.

Nice work Tim, How far time wise is that in to the painting? also what kind of primer do you use, cuase it looks very well coted but still holds all the detail?

Thanks Howard, I have put about five hours on this mini so far. The primer is car spray primer matt black. Halfords own brand it is reasonably cheap and goes a long way.

A
nice work tidocco2222, im learning warhammer 40k at the moment, jsut bought the mcrage starter set, and i jsut have to say, the models supplied are utter s**t! mould lines every where and the sprus are attatched in the mose annoying places possible. took me an hour! literally to clean one model up. then 2 hours to paint it :p doig the marines in blood ravens colours and they look dam fine if i say so my self. ill put a pic up when i dig the cam out.

ps, how the hell do you do those signature things at the bottom of your posts?

i spent a hour making a .gif for it but dont know how to add it

any help greatly appreciated

If you\'re just putting a picture up in this thread you\'ll need a host. Try www.photobucket.com. Make an account and submit your photo file. Now that you\'re hosted get the link for your picture (right click image > properties, copy the Address (URL)) and then come here and hit reply. From there click the
bb_image.gif
button above where you type your message. Follow on screen instructions and when it asks for Your URL paste it into the textbox. Hit OK and post your reply. Then you have to make this face ->

hm not an actual wip but i wanted to share it ;)
a shot of my \"desk\" aka the living room
i occupy the whole table so it can get quite troublesome if someone else wants to use it :)

i always paint my minis sitting \"reversed\" on the air chair, meaning my face not pointing towards the table.
another \"strange\" thing is that i paint all my minis upside down.
i hold them with a cork bracket up so that the mini points to the ground.
why? i dont know it myself :)

@joshua
I used to paint in my living room at the coffee table and I became increasingly unpopular with my girlfriend! :innocent: It also made my back hurt and the more I painted the worse the pain got. So, I built my own desk in front of a large window with good lighting, proper height for working comfortably and lots of space where I can have all my paints, tools and other garbage without offending anyone. And I don\'t get a sore back anymore! :D

ok here are the first two orges
the \"scaly\" one will get some armor added like the standart bearer orge, had to switch the ironfirst and drill it out because i love the first and the club :)

the original plan was to convert them into some ironguts but i asked a friend and he told me that ironguts can only be equipped with 2 handed weapons so no ironguts for me :(((

the thingie on his head is a horn breaking through the skin, unfortunately you can see it because of the light :(

it was like the second time i sculpted something larger than a purity seal so i apologize for the lack of speed, i needed to practice the chainmail a bit :(

the shoulder armor will get some additional battle damage and bits when its dried

keep your work up folks, i have a good feeling about that :)

@ Joshua, Does sound weird painting upside down but i find my self doing alot of the mini upside down. Strokes with the brush seem to be easier and neater when I can bring the stroke down or towards me in stead of up. by the way nice job with the green stuff on them ogers :flip:
