yeah it does! Conan has a warm spot in my heart, and this diorama looks MOST promising, keep giving us WIP shots of that one.

Joshua, outstanding work, I love your metalics, I think I may have to try to copy your style on my ogre (when it ever gets assigned! *glares at Tammy*), it looks wonderful.

This is an Eowyn piece I\'m working on for the in-store competitions in January. She\'s probably about 85% complete.

Looking good Darth! One thing that jumped out at me is that her eyes dont seem to match though, her right eye seems larger, or like the dark spot there is over the lid a bit. Maybe it\'s just the picture, or maybe she needs more shading around the eyes. The rest is great, I love the composition of the scene.

EDIT: Forget the eye comment Dwight - I just looked at the clearer close-up over at Glyn\'s site and they are fine
:)

WOW - the gown is amazing! I need to get that effect on the diorama I posted above, on the girl - what did you use for that?

Well, I seem to be on a roll tonight and I finished the Ogre conversion I posted awhile back in the thread. I think he has been sufficiently given the Primeval treatment :D

You made my night
Simply put
I painted her flesh (OK I used 6-7 different colors for the flesh and I do not keep track:( sorry) but then layered Vallejo Ivory mixed with lots of future magic wash. I held her upside down and took heavy ivory and blended it up while the thin wash was still wet.. it seemed to work.

No problem on the flesh part - I\'m not brave enough to try the sheer effect lol

But the gown looks like silk or something - I thought for sure you must have used a Reaper Silk color (Pearl I think it is) - I can\'t wait to see that finished now!

There is some realy nice work here, TAB that angel is beautiful,

Primeval great looking diorama,

Darth Foley I think that is possibly the best Eowyn I have seen.

Nelson Bilbo is looking awesome,

Joshua I need you to PM me your method of weathering metallics and also how you did the verdegris on that belly plate, it is simply brilliant.

okidokey

done that todico
its probably the longest pm that i ever wrote and will ever be writing :)
now i\'ll get back to him, hope i dont mess up anything (im really afraid of what to do with the pants :()
i would like to do a freehand but a) i suck a** at freehand painting and b) dont think an ogre would run around with some fancy ornaments on his pantsus
edit: ok i looked closely at my colors. i dont want to use vallejo here because they\'re not very robust and can be easily washed out.
right now i think about a darker red, graveyard earth or camo green or a mixture of the former

the problem with graveyard earth is that there will be not much contrast to the skin i guess but i LOVE that colour ^_^

Nice work everyone, though TAB, now I can see why you like the girlie figures I sent that direction - that is a fantastic paint job on the angle ... the dress and the sheer look of it ...

growwwwwll....

Grumb

used to be a Freak
I\'m throwinf away my brushes..

TAB and Darth, Really nice work from both of you. the dress on your angle looks like satin to me from the pics. Darth, awesome Eowyn. You do keep getting better and better. Are you giving lessons by any chance?

I had a really bad night last night, hands shaking too much, really messed up a figure that was almost finished. I\'m having one of those days where I\'m half tempted to just throw the brushes away and give away all the minis and paints and say to hell with it. I know this will pass but I\'m really frustrated right now..... :flame:

I know what you mean Grumb I\'ve not had such a good day myself, still I have persevered and this is what I have come up with,

WitchhunterWIP.jpg

OgreWIPb.jpg

the Witch Hunter has been staring me in the face for weeks and so I thought I would do some to him I also did a bit to the Ogre mainly the rusted metal on the fist and also the belly plate. I shall not get anything done tomorrow as I am on a training course so that will be all for a day or two.

Now I see, you are suppose to paint these things, not just cut them up and sculpt things onto them, etc... lol

Nice work there Tidoco! I really like the smoothness you get on you work while still achieving proper contrast - something I am still working on.
